The Samsung Series 7 55-inch UN55ES7100 is also available through Dell for 1497.99 with 2 yr warranty. You will see the 2nd yr of warranty when added to cart. BUT you may be able to get it 124.99 cheaper by talking to customer service and refusing 2nd yr of warranty...Not sure but possibility???? If you follow the personalize this TV link there is a option to buy without the warranty that takes you straight to chat.

Aside from warranty.. looks like its the same price.

I would go with Amazon for same price, no tax in my state, and 2% rewards/ (plus 3 points for every dollar when using Amazon Visa)

Im just hesitant that a deal will pop up for the 7500 or 8000 in the next 2 weeks or so.

I bought this on Sunday from Amazon, It shipped from Indianapolis yesterday by Pilot Freight Services. Tracking showing it was scanned in Green Bay this morning, just got a call an hour or so ago, the TV is actually in Milwaukee with a J & K Shipping company now. They will be here tomorrow afternoon to deliver (yay!)

I don't really have a problem with the TV having to transfer carriers, I understand that may be a necessity due to logistics. However, as far as I can tell tracking info stops when Pilot delivers to another delivery service, which is not so great, and the fact that tracking info shows the TV was scanned in Green Bay, but the TV is still in Milwaukee I find strange... I guess as long as it shows up in one piece and works as should is all that matters.

Also, looking for some good calibration settings...

The problem with buying from Costco is you pay $96 more on taxes but on the other side you will get an extra keyboard.
Probably in CA, not in every state. Here in IL, coupons are deducted before tax, so it reduces your tax and even if you buy from AMZ, still have to pay state taxes....

I bought the 55" model 2 days ago from Costco (in store). Could not justify the $300 difference for 5 screen inches Smilie and the watching distance in my house is about 6ft.
I was considering the 8000 line but the difference in price is huge making the 7000 line a great deal now. The 8000 has a little faster processor, Skype camera and ultimate dimming but apparently there are more complaints about ghosting and panel uniformity than the 7000 line.

Why is the UN55ES7100 hundreds more than LG 55LM8600?

Samsung has less HDMI and USB ports and active 3D versus better passive 3D tech?

That is a pretty subjective view stating passive is better than active. Personally I find the active 3D is a much more in depth 3D image. In the regards you don't need batteries or to charge glasses, I suppose active is better... But that is a minor factor as you still need glasses either way for 3D - so until glasses are no longer needed i don't think think that really matters.

As to why the Sammy is more expensive, I think the panel is better, and a better 2D picture in general, which is what these are mainly used for anyway.

I understand that there is no camera for the ES7100. But I thought you said that we can buy 1 for it. I look everywhere and could not find the camera for ES7100.

I also added the additional 3 year warranty for just $99 for a total of 5 years. Need to have protection against power surges here in Florida, IMHO.

I have seen the 55" in person and love the slimness of the frame. Can anyone please confirm if the 60" is just as thin or does the border of the tv get thicker?

Also, the next model up with build in camera un55es7500 tv comes with a free soundbar:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0077QVOV4

Look at the bottom of the page, samsung gives a good comparison sheet. I personally think the un55es7100 is a good deal.
The 60" is just as thin as the 55" as best I can tell.

I know it is subjective, but my wife and I love the picture quality of the Samsung TVs far more than any other. Maybe that is why Samsung sells at a premium to the others.

Which deal is better - Amazon or Costco? Same TVs available from Costco also.

Samsung 55" Class 1080p 240Hz 3D Smart LED HDTV Bundle UN55ES7150F - $1,449.99 After $1,100 OFF & Free Shipping

http://www.costco.com/Samsung-60%...68063.html

I am also little confused whether to go for one of the above or the 55" Panasonic VIERA TC-P55VT50 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV for $1600 from Paul's TV?

Appreciate any inputs to clear my dilemma.
I went with the VT way better tv.. and if you go on dealcatcher AE is offering $150 cash back if you spend $1000 or more... dont know were you live but delaware is tax free.. i live in philly drove to delawre and got the TV for 1599 then 150 back from AE. TOTAL WAS 1350..THEN GO TO COSTCO AND GET YOU 3 YR SQARE TRADE WARRANTY FOR $99
