Great price... ugg I paid $800 for this March of last year ;/ And actually financed it through my Amazon card for 12 months lol... still paying it off.
Only thing annoying is it displays a banner ad when you change volume, other than that great tv with great internet features. Slickestdeals to date:

Press the MENU button on remote. The main menu will appear, most likely with "Picture" highlighted. Navigate down to Setup, hit OK. Navigate down to the second screen until you land on Advanced Setup. Hit OK. Hop down to Viera Connect Banner and ... turn it off using the left or right directional arrows. Now you can exit the menu system and the next time you power up the TV, banners will be banned. |

Ugh, just bought this on Friday and Amazon rep said I would have to return that one and place a new order to receive the Promo Credit. Seems like a waste of money for everyone except UPS. Anyone have success getting Promos applied after purchase? What's the trick?

so, this really isn't -$100 off the price of the TV, correct? You still pay $499 and you get a $100 credit towards something else (with an expiration date) if I'm reading this right. If that's the case, the TV isn't really $399 as OP suggests in the title.

wrt ads, after reading through some reviews on YouTube, several ppl reported the ads could be disabled, but the setting is buried in the menus.
