Is gun control the best strategy for liberal politicians to take against conservatives? Seems that former President Clinton learned his lesson and does not think President Obama is handling the issue as well as he could.

I have to agree with Clinton; the AWB is not worth sacrificing control of Congress.

First, Democrats do not have control of Congress. They have a majority in the Senate.

Different facets of gun control have different levels of support. When 90% of the public supports universal BGC, it won't cost the Dems control of anything to pass it, and might gain them control of the House if Reps oppose it.

Yeah, before this whole gun control issue, the republican party was probably going to go extinct, now they have a rallying cause. I wouldn't be surprised if the democrats take some serious losses during the next midterm elections. People get pretty passionate when you label them as irresponsible and try to punish them for the actions of others.

Unfortunately, a lot of them don't do anything until after the fact. If they pass something, there will definitely be hell to pay when the average Joe's and Jane's go to the gun store and reality hits them.

Bill got his ass handed to him by the "rednecks" he was all too willing to throw under the bus. Obama's race card protective blanket isn't going to be able to cover his cronies in congress.

I was shocked last Friday upon going to Cabela's and finding that they only had about 20% stock - 75% of the gun cases were empty (note this is mostly handguns) and the ammo shelves were about 90% empty. They had ZERO 22LR, when they usually have hundreds of buckets of the Remington 1k round lots.

I know this is S&D - but people are clearly scared that something will happen.

We apparently have no problem setting requirements to check an individual's legal eligibility to own a firearm.

BUT, it seems there's a big issue with democrats and checking an individual's legal eligibility to vote.

After the Dems crashing upon the Gun Control Shores and then ObamaCare kicking in, the 2014 elections should be a route. But dont quote me on that. I thought this last election should have been a route on economic and fiscal grounds...the economic and fiscal situation isnt going to be any better in 2014.

But the wild card is the MSM, the Leftwing propaganda arm of the Democrat Party. As Cosmo said...

I don't view gun control as an issue one takes up "against conservatives." It's an issue that one takes up against crime, particularly the crimes of maniacs. It's not about "taking something from conservatives" or "getting even."
