In any case, it shows 19.43 for me now. Dead? |

Guess the deal is dead regardless |

I really want one of these but can't justify the purchase price of it:

I was going to cancel my order then I realized I need the kick-stand, so I kept my order of this case. [amazon.com]

Took me over 2 hours to get this case to work and I have finally accepted the fact that this case is either defective or the design is just not compatible with the S3. The silicone piece fits over the phone perfectly- all the buttons work just fine, but once it is inserted into the hard plastic case, it does not. Think the hard plastic is causing a pressure issue- pressing against the volume increase button- and it is impossible to turn the volume down unless you pull on the sides of the case. Don't think this is good for the phone long term. Going to try getting a refund.

To reduce inventory glut? These cases are pretty much on sale right now in anticipation of a new S4 phone in the coming months I guess.
Any way, the price looks right. However I do prefer a case that have all the holes including the camera covered and protected while not in use. |

Why i suspect people have trouble with it, is that you put the rubber casing on first (easy) then the hard plastic on (hard). But while you are stuffing it into the plastic case, the rubber case moves quite a bit (it's not like a bumper case and is on sorta loose). This will make the rubber "buttons" misalign with the phones volume/power on buttons and make people think its tough to press. But once it's perfectly aligned, it works as intended and to me, even easier than before to press the side buttons. My only reason for thinking that this may not be "real" is that the 3 holes in the back for the LED/speaker/camera fit where they should be. But the LED is slightly off center (but the entire LED still shows). even if it is a knockoff, it's still a good one (seems/feels legit though) |

Is it common to have counterfeit OtterBox cases? I just won a new black Commuter case from an eBay auction (only because I don't have Prime). Paid pretty much the same as this Amazon deal but I would like to know what to look for to see if it's counterfeit and I need to make a claim against the person. I'm guessing I won't since it's from a seller who has been around for 11 years and has over 15,000 feedback. |

To be honest really kinda was a trial and error, the main thing is to make sure the rubber cases button slots are aligned with the phones correctly/perfectly (usually once both cases are on, just push or pull around) then it should be fine. you'll be able to tell if its on right or not, when its not, youll have to push hard to turn on the screen and sometimes it works and sometimes not. just got to adjust everything in the correct position. im sure it's fairly common to be counterfeited, there are ways online to see if it's a counterfeit, one of which was a difference in the logo on the back of the hard case. you never know, but even if mine is counterfeit, it's a damn good one haha. |

I dont understand how people pay inflated prices for Otterboxes since they dont cover your phone in case it gets damaged while in the case.
Ive never spent more than $5 on a case. Dropped several different phones many times in them and never had any problems. |
