Maui Activities List

Hana highway is a fun adventure but you'll need to look up which destinations you'll want to stop at like waterfalls and black sand beaches. If you plan to do the whole drive around Hana highway please plan to be gone the entire day, it's quite a way.

Ride a bike from the top of the crater. Great views and just a laid back day(unless you can't ride a bike)

Parasailing from UFO, Costco has the best price.
Maui Taco, great food and cheap
Mixed plate in lahaina, on the water great food at a great price

Yes I do plan to go to hana an entire day. hopefully that should be enough.

We did parasailing recently at tahoe so not sure if that's gonna be exciting.
Maui Taco/Mixed Plate, I'll visit that I took a studio with kitchen so that I can cook my breakfast and stuff but taco looks good for lunch

Snorkeling at turtle town is pretty lame. There isnt that many fish or turtles. We only saw 1 turtle...of course we didnt pay for a tour, That beach/snorkel spot is accessible for free.

Id also skip Molokini. Instead head over to honolua bay. Just google it/trip advisor it. Thats the place you want to be for snorkeling, and its free, lots of parking.

I was just there in august, we went there 2 times. You'll see catamarans with a bunch of people anchored in the bay. All of those fools paid to get to that location when they could have easily driven, parked, and walked right to the bay for free. Dont be one of those idiots.

Luaus are fun. I wouldnt do it again but im glad I saw one. We watched on Oahu.

Drive to see the sunrise on top of haleakala. Its cold so wear warm clothes. I was fine with a beanie, jeans, a t shirt and a long sleeve thick shirt over top. Some people require heavy jackets cause they're sissys. Anyway, the sunrise is really awesome, it costs like $10 to get into the park. ( save your receipt, you'll need it on road to hana when you park to see seven sacred pools. With the receipt you wont have to pay again)

Road to hana, do that too. The black sand beach is cool, stop there. Theres also the seven sacred pools. Not that exciting. A good place to hop in to cool off. Continue walking on the 2 mile path. Takes you through a cool bamboo forest. At the end a huge waterfall, like 800ish feet I think? Also hit up the red sand beach in the town of hana. Have to walk on a trail that some thinks looks dangerous. Its really not unless you're drunk or high when you walk it. The beach is hidden although there will be a couple people there. When we went there were 3 other people at the beach. Nice place to cool off. Thats pretty much it for hana. Keep driving around the island, do not turn around and go back the same way you came. The roads show as not paved but they are the closest you will get to a paved road. Its completely safe and you do not need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We did it in a small ford focus without issues.

Daughter lives on Maui. She loves upcountry and said the lavender farm is pretty. If you hit the lavender farm, she recommends going to the winery (also in Kula) for a tour and tasting and then across the street (from the winery) to the Ulapalakua Ranch for a bite to eat. They have good burgers (beef and elk).

Agree with blameO, we were not impressed with turtle town. Looking forward to hitting Honolua and Napili bays next time over.

I've been to Maui more times than I can count within the last 6 years so here is my take on activities I enjoy in no particular order:

1) Sunset cocktail cruise (I prefer teralani)
2) Snorkel tour over to Lanai. The reef is fantastic over off of Lanai
3) Road to Hana with the various stops and then relaxing at Hamoa Beach for a couple of hours before the drive back.
4) Ziplining
5) Sunrise at Haleakala followed by breakfast at the Kula Lodge
6) Breakfast at the Gazebo in Napili
7) Big Beach (Makena) is my favorite beach on Maui
8) Waihee Valley Trail (I believe this has been closed)
9) I'ao Valley
10) Getting shave ice and watching the wind surfers at Ho'okipa
11) Paddle Boarding. I'm an avid paddle boarder so anytime I get a chance to take advantage of the sport in Hawaii I do so.
12) Snorkeling anywhere and everywhere.
13) Enjoying coffee on the lanai in the morning listening to the island wake up.

Save yourself some money and avoid the dinner cruise and the jet skiing. The cocktail cruise is cheaper and offers a better experience. Jetskiing is only allowed outside of whale season and is limited to a circular track. So don't think that you are just going to be zipping all over the ocean.

that's some information. I thought the molokini and turtle town combination is best snorkeling tour..
Wow! this potentially can save me $200 since I was planning on taking the $98 snorkeling trip..are you sure about this? Since I won't be going to Hawaii(I think) in next 2-3 years.
Regarding lau... But are these good for vegetarian too? IS it worth the 100 bucks?

Molokini isn't bad if you get the right boat. If you are one of the ones that leaves early you are good otherwise it can get very very crowded. It's why I happen to prefer Lanai.

I don't think it is risky. If you don't feel stable enough you can always drop to your knees, although falling can be half the fun

If you haven't already...I highly advise buying the travel guide Maui Revealed aka the Blue Bible. It is the most indepth travel guide to Maui and will take you off the beaten path for attractions and sightseeing. Most things in the book were fabulous {the Olivine pools) and free (all the best places to stop on the road to Hana) and detailed travel directions.
