I will. thanks what's your top 3 fav spots at Maui?

Thats a tough question because it was 8 years ago. But...We loved snorkeling everywhere (Kapalua Bay Beach was great) and none of us had ever snorkeled prior to our visit. The Road to Hana - we followed the instuctions in the travel guide- stopping where it suggested and went the entire way around, the Olivine pools were amazing and practically deserted, the seven sacred pools were nice but crowded. We were there during some holiday and there were canoe races that we watched from the beach.Every suset was spectacular. There is just so much to do.
Honestly, get the book. It is amazing in detail and information. There was a beach that it recommended as quiet and beautiful and ALL the beaches in Hawaii are public. It was beautiful and deserted except for the lone guitar player wearing a thong and walking down the beach sining and playing...honest...we have never laughed so hard. I wish I was there now and hoping to go back in 2014.

Oh well .. I haven't booked any activities yet but pretty much finalized that I will be doing just the luau as a paid activity and rest will be hana, halakelaka, beaches, free snorkeling places.

No ziplining as we can do it anywhere else too .. not maui special.
No molokini as folks have told me its hyped and would find better snorkeling experience at honolulu bay etc.


I hope I ain't doing a mistake by not taking those activities .. what do you guys think?

I had a great time ziplining. The view is pretty awesome from the Kaanapali Zipline. (Sky Eco Tours is the name of the company).

What Luau are you going to book?

Definitely book a sunset cocktail cruise.

Yea I think I will book the sunset cocktail cruise. Do we go with dinner cruise but without dinner or is it a separate cruise altogether?

Regarding Luau, I am thinking between old lahaina/drums of the pacific since my wife is vegetarian.

Separate all together. I recommend either the Teralani or Trilogy (I believe you are staying in the Kaanapali area correct?)

Can't go wrong with either, Old Lahaina is the most authentic, however they do not have a fire dancer.

Yea I am staying in Kaanapali area .. I will take a look at the cruises..
I called in for zipline but its too costly - 149 for the skyline eco 8 zipline tour. There is another zipline - north shore which is for less but is an hour drive ... !!

Get used to driving. How far do you think Hana and Haleakala are?

Fair enough .. I just thought driving might be worth for hana/haleakala.. but not for zipline since its not Maui special ..

It can be special just depends..is it exclusive to Maui...no, but anywhere else you zipline won't be on Maui

Also just to prep yourself, driving is a big part of going to Maui. I generally drive 400 or so miles when I'm there (speaking of which 44 day count down for me )
