Macys.com has select Alfani Men's Dress Shirts greatly reduced when you combine automatic 60% off in cart with promo code WKND. The shirts start as low as $10.20 after all disounts. Shipping is free if you spend $100, otherwise it's $9.95, so it's best to buy in quantities. Thanks reality99 & shadcrkd

Edit: Some ties also come out to be ~$16 if you're looking for a filler but don't want more shirts.
Sort by price, then look for ones that are on sale and have 50 or 60% off. Link: http://www1.macys.com/shop/mens-c...&!qvp=iqvp

A couple decent Kenneth Cole ones:

Macy's return policy for those interested in buying a few 'extra' shirts you 'might' not end up liking. (https://customerservice.macys.com.../a_id/1415).
You can return items purchased at Macys.com directly to the store for a full refund of the item price. If you order and get free shipping you are out nothing, if you order and pay for shipping the shipping is not refundable unless it is a damaged item.

thanks - 8 shirts for about $15 each. The $12 Alfanis violate my personal ban on polyester, but they had some others that were all cotton. Don't forget up to 6% cashback is available...
why no polyester?

How badly do the stretch cotton fitted alfani shirts wrinkle? Is it as bad as Express stretch cotton shirts? I hate ironing and dry cleaning kills the elasticity of stretch cotton after awhile.

Childhood trauma from static-y sweaters and socks, probably...

I like the way cotton looks, ages and breathes better. I spent some time in a lab around fire/chemicals that would have melted polyester onto your skin, but cotton would have resisted. I acknowledge that I don't get the "never wrinkle" or "no iron" features of polyester, but I'm OK with that...

The available Alfani shirt colors are too much to me. Do you really wear these as dress shirts?

Interesting, I thought you were going to mention some ill health effects of polyester. I find it hard to avoid polyester, esp for outer wear. Seems like almost every jacket and coat is made of polyester.

These shirts are total garbage--the color fades after a few washings and they quickly lose their sharp appearance. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend spending $25 on a Club Room shirt instead.

How do these shirts compare to express shirts?
Express seems to be hit or miss on quality, but generally good. My experience with Alfani is that they are consistently bad. An Express shirt on sale is a much better deal than full-priced Alfani.

Unless you're hanging these up right out of the dryer, pretty much all the "no-iron" shirts on the market will need at least a gentle steam. These are no exception.

can you buy in quantity to get free shipping and them return some to the local store?

Yes. That's what I do with most retailers

Don't ever put a single dress shirt in the wash, ever. Always dry clean and they'll last for years.

Club Room is garbage too if you care about wrinkle-free performance.

The best wrinkle-free shirts I've found from a dept store at a slick price are the Roundtree & Yorke/Murano Gold Label shirts at Dillard's when they go on sale for 50% off or more.

dry cleaning your shirts every time = not a slick deal

I've had the best luck with gold label at dillard's + washing machine.

Agree. Club Room is by no means a high-quality brand, but in my opinion the best of the budget brands.

Washing in cold water and drying on low heat is a cheap and easy way to make decent dress shirts last a looooooong time. Dry cleaning everyday dress shirts is a waste of time and money.

LOL, What is the point of a shirt lasting "for years" if the final price of that $20 shirt after cleanings is $200 by the time you throw it away? I'd rather buy 10 shirts and run them through a gentle cycle than dealing with a dry cleaning service.
