btw you cant overclock since its not a K and the BCLK is stuck at 100...
but you can overclock the graphics.

my 2500k/2600k/3560k/3770k/ processors i was able to get at least 1800mhz out of it.
the 3770k i pretty much maxed on 2150.

i did it just for kicks. running a gtx 670 now.

cant wait to see major improvements on the graphics.
skyrim on a ultrabook would be pretty crazy.

Nice for a budget build or htpc.
Just grab a cheap discrete.

This chip, no, I have previous generation i3 sandy bridge (weaker than this chip) in my htpc and it plays 1080p content (MKV's and bluray ISO rips) without sweating. My chip, along with six 2TB hard drives and blu-ray player (external/usb) along with everything else consumes on about 50 watts when watching movies.

When it is idle it uses about 37 watts.

Anyone who expects performance out of an Intel video chip embedded on a CPU is out of their mind. You want to play games buy a Video card. Do they have MoBo's that don't have a PCI-e slot for a video card?

While the HD 2500 isn't going to be spinning heads for gaming, the HD 4000 is more than capable of an acceptable level of gaming and it is an Intel embedded graphics solution =)

Yes, there are motherboards out there that don't have a PCI-e slot. Usually they are cheap dells and the like.

the common cx430 corsair for $15-20 AR (80%+ efficient) would go great with this.

i dropped the voltage to 1.075v and wattage consumption dropped to 25w if i remember correctly. i wasnt trying to save power but to reduce the heat since i wanted a super quiet budget system.

also i did a stress test to see if it was stable at 1.075v some will go lower (even .9v) sometimes.
its fun playing the silicon lotto.

i would get a SSD if you really wanted to save money on power but thats not practical on a HTPC. a laptop hard drive 2.5" uses like 2.5w instead of 12-36w a regular hard drive uses.
