Best Buy Coupon: $50 off $100+ In-Store Purchases via Printable Coupon (MasterCard Required)

When I went to best buy at 4:30pm yesterday, I saw so many fat people running from their cars to the entrance. If Best Buy did anything good yesterday, it was getting those fatties heart rates up even if for just 45 seconds.

Doubt it. Like I said before...the gift cards would have been the biggest hit. Other products (depending on mark-up) would have varied.

BB got smoked on the non BB gift cards for sure. I'm guessingt the most they can probably get them for is a 10% discount off face value.

Anyone know if the 10% off is accurate?

Hard goods they probably sold a lot of stuff at their cost(like a nationwide clearance event).

I don't think anyone here (unless they work for the BB purchase dept that handles these transactions) knows the exact numbers....but I think everyone would be in agreement it's not 50% off.

BB would have got a much better reaction once they pulled the coupon and started denying it by giving anyone with a coupon(limit one) a $10 BB GC as a token for the inconvenience. That would guarntee that the customer would come back. And at least create some goodwill.

Yup - a lot of items, at half price, were still at or above prices I've seen on Amazon. GC - for sure - that's not going to be nice on the balance sheet.

Otoh, I was looking in music - saw the same Heart box set I got before Christmas for $20 - they had it for $39.95. Likewise a lot of games and blu rays. I told my son about the "deal" - he replied "So what - most of what they sell is double price anyway."

NOT saying there weren't a lot of good deals to be found - but I also doubt if this will put them out of business. More a case of a one day January inventory clearance sale.

(me - I played nice, picked up a 2tb usb 3.0 hdd for $49.95. I was going to get the 32 gb Vita memory card, but like a fool, saved that for today.)

yeah, have you ever seen Apple releasing a coupon for anything that they sell?

I'm not sure if this was local to the store or a national thing but the POS system at my local store crashed just before I got there. Judging by how long it took for things to come back online it may have been systemic. It took a while to check out to say the least but an open box Macbook Pro for $818 after tax was worth it.

you're right, why the heck am I sticking up for the uninformed consumer, or worse, the lazy?????? Darn it, I hate when I open mouth before thinking.
