I firmly believe some cashiers are looking for jobs! I run retail business and store has strict policy - if the coupon says 1 item per purchase and if the cashier does something wrong that cashier is out.

I totally agree with you. I was also told Best Buy intended this deal to go to Rewardzone Silver members. Last year I spent 3 times the minimum to reach/keep my silver membership. I received this deal via e-mail. I went to the stores after work and was denied several times. For those who actually got the deal, did you receive the offer by e-mail at all? Probably not.

In the end, Best Buy must accept most of the responsibility. When JC Penny gives out electronic coupon to individual customer, the codes are unique. Also, if Best Buy wanted to minimize the loss, they could have informed the store to offer this deal only to the silver members. There were many things Best Buy could have done but they did nothing except pissing off their most loyal customers.

I don't want Best Buy to go out of business. Amazon will always have the edge on price due to the tax. But occasionally they beat everyone by a mile. I buy a lot of Blu-ray movies and their Black Friday deals (which lasted til Christmas) broke the record for the lows. Many titles cost $20 at Amazon and Best Buy sold them for $3.99. Also, Best Buy has free shipping with no minimum unlike Amazon.

I used the coupon yesterday, but did not receive email. However, when I logged into my work account this morning, for which I have a reward zone I don't use, I had the coupon there. The one from Monday still opened on Best Buy site, and I did not receive any kind of notification it was bad. Bottom line, I would be pissed if I had gone to use today having gotten it legit in an email and not been able to. Very happy I got in when I did (couple of PS3 games and was able to use on Wonderbook Move bundle).

At minimum, I think BB should honor the coupon to LEGIT owners, but how to show that, outside of showing them the coupon in your account, could be a nightmare based on how easily some folks can be offended, regardless of the reasons.

totowa NJ store last night: new rules, expires 21rst, excludes all Apple, no GCs, single item has to be over $100...etc manager was rude and unapologetic, pure BB bullcrap, pure reasons why BB has bad rep.
