I'm glad somebody else though 3TB external at $70+ tax was still pricey.... Gosh, I bought a 3TB external FROM Best Buy 4 years ago for $80!!!!!!!!

Yesterday at the Millbury store for $74.36 after tax. I know a guy who works in Geek Squad so he took one off the truck and they held it for me.

The thing that strikes me is how badly Best Buy is run. This coupon couldn't have been just a spontaneous idea from one individual. I've been in corporate America. This idea must have circulated for a while and signed off by numerous people. How many people read this coupon and thought it was just fine? Just as bad was that revision. Just reading it once it was clear self contradictory. Did someone just type it in the spur of the moment and send it out? Didn't at least one other person proof read it and cross check it for sanity. These mistakes I would find hard press to accept from a 2 person mom and pop shop. For a company the size of Best Buy, it's inconceivable. What's going on in Best Buy? It can't be good.

This is a way to temporarily drive stock prices up. Although they lost $50 for each transaction, they gained millions per minute by stock. Companies do this to boost the funds they need for the short term, say a few months. After that, they will need to show profits or the stocks will drop. I can see this tactic used as a last resort for companies who are not pulling in profits to cover their expenses in the short term.

The Riverdale BB screwed me over last year on an open-box Panasonic TC-P50ST30. I called in, it was put on hold. After work I drove 30 minutes out-of-my-way to that particular store, only to find they sold the set earlier that day. To add insult to injury, members of their staff apologized while adding that they can not put a hold on merchandise on the floor. (A flat-out LIE.) Mind you, this was not the first time I was OFFERED to have an item put on hold and certainly not the last.

Learn to read, that was my haul after just cleaning out Chicagoland. I then expanded my horizons to Southern Wisconsin as well, and raked in the rest.

good point.. when is BB's earning report? I think this whole thing was engineered and orchetrayed from the top in order to boost stocks price. It took them the whole day to send out a revised version of this coupon? In the past, BB's corporate emails went out right away and stores managers were aware pretty much right away.

This x 1,000,000! You people act like this was something 1 employee at BBY put out that none of the higher ups had any clue about. The facts are that they thought the coupon as written was something they could handle. When people started "abusing" it (i.e. using it as written), now the consumer is the bad guy.

And no one has answered this: WHY HAS NO RETRACTMENT EMAIL BEEN SENT???? THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO GET PEOPLE INTO THE STORE WITH THE ORIGINAL COUPON.

I know man, right? I almost bought the 2 TB, but found this. A little over $20 more for an additional TB.
