Received an email now from best buy though I never received the actual coupon email

BB never ever deletes coupons, look on google for coupons from 2005, they're still live

No I'm not an expert but in all my years of being an SD member do you know how many times I've heard someone scream "lawsuit"? Do you really think you're the first one on SD to act like they're going to go after a "mighty corportation"? You're not and there have been hundreds of others like you talking about filing some sort of lawsuit and never have I seen any of them go through with it. I would love for you to prove me wrong, until then you're all talk.

While that may or may not be true (...as I vaguely recall searching for an RZ coupon that had been removed), has there ever been an incident in BB's past where they "pulled" a coupon as they just did on 01.21.13? Do you think a court will accept what is basically "a lie by omission" in terms of the original not being retracted? Check this thread's Wiki and click on BB's FB response link. Does it still work? Then look at the thumbnails provided by SDers with updates to the original coupon and then its changed terms. Can you find the originals of these documents anywhere online, officially?

Look around, spend some time on BB's FB page and their website. Take 5 minutes, take 15 minutes. Do you see any bulletin being offered letting everyone/anyone know that the original coupon sent to RZ members is now void (as in, not valid until the 27th)?

Now forget the Wiki and SD altogether. Imagine you got the original email and that is it. You have off tomorrow and are heading to Best Buy tomorrow to waste your time, gas, and energy becoming the next turkey to get shot-down with your $50 coupon in your hand. Who pays for that? Who's responsible for you learning the "hard way"?

Poor form. Seriously, one could be at a loss for words in how to describe what they are doing, what they have done. It's deceitful, it's just plain wrong.

P.S. - Perhaps BB doesn't delete coupons, ever. I dunno, as I can't say for sure. However, they are sure quick to delete their FB thread in relation to handling them.

Right on! Today I got shot down at the BB in Paramus, NJ (#344) and at two nearby Staples outlets. (Staples sucks @$$ for PMing, near-zero success w/them.)

I've got an itch to see what would happen in a court of law. Anyone near BB stores #1394 (Monroe, NY), #461 (Middletown, NY), #344 (Paramus, NJ) or other nearby BBs in NY/NJ want to try litigating this thing as an exploratory, educational, and money-making (cost-recovering) venture? I feel this case is practically 'open-n-shut' after reading much of this thread. However, I do not want to be part of a class action to earn a check for $2.33 or some $5 BB GC, and I would definitely opt-out should I hear of some ambitious, greedy law firm receiving class-action status over this incident. However, I have enjoyed success at being a pro se and learning the intricacies of the law, so I am willing to give this a go with a bit of local support. Anyone else want to help out? I could use any portion one might have of BB's FaceBook thread from 01.21 as evidence. (BTW, that is exactly why BB had it deleted.) Affidavits (later on) from both regular and Silver BB Reward Zone members that received The E-mail would also come in handy.

It is my opinion that BestBuy, Inc. made some serious missteps in how they have handled this fiasco, AND they are continuing to do so...now committing outright FRAUD in their ongoing actions with impunity & showing disdain towards their customers.

As a non-hater and frequent customer of BB (I find most BB employees I've encountered to be nice, even helpful), I still just would hate to see BB, Inc. get away with something like this. Don't we deserve more respect as 'the customer'? Wouldn't you like to see big corporations act in an honorable manner and show more appreciation for their customers? Read up on some of the experiences some people are having with this entity, its policies, and employees acting on its behalf. Simply put, their actions are seriously just "not cool". BB could have handled this in perhaps a hundred different ways, yet the course they've chosen was perhaps the one that has shown their customers the least amount of respect and genuine appreciation. Their actions and inactions have vindicated the harsh opinions and ill-feelings of those here on SD that have expressed nothing short of hate for BB. For the first time, I can totally see how and why they've earned such feelings....

Well, boys & girls, I guess we are witnessing history in the making (or BB, Inc. is reading this thread), b/c it seems BB sometime today deleted the original coupon from their site. About time, only took them two extra days to get it done. (I can work with that.)

Yeah, I've probably seen all of the same knucklehead posts too. So what is your point? Everyone that talks about litigation is blowing smoke? Please tell me you're not that obtuse; this country's courtrooms (last time I checked) are quite busy.

As I stated in my previous post, I definitely do not want to bother, if all by my lonesome. However, if I got 3 or 4 locals that were affected to join in I'd love to make a go of it.

Somehow I doubt Best Buy uploaded their own coupon to coupons.com. Therefore, I doublt they're even aware that it's still posted there.

But where I have a problem is when these people who never got the email start crying foul because at 8PM then new rules were established to prevent the coupon from being overused. Sure, you can whine for days on end about how "CA law states..." or scream "I'll never shop at this store that i never shop at!" but lets be honest. The moment ANYONE saw the deal then they knew it wasnt going to last so why act like such turds about a situation playing out exactly as expected?

They are given to Coupons.com by the business/manufacturer.

I know since i have had problems with a coupon or two from the site and the manufacturer was the one that had to and did send out a corrected one.

I'm just curious if you did file a lawsuit, what you think you'd be entitled to? It seems to me that your compensatory damages would amount to $50 (your "lost cost" of not being able to use the coupon). Punitive damages wouldn't apply as BB did not put this coupon out with the direct intent of harming you in any way. We all know what consumers really get post class-action lawsuit due to the lawyer fees...
