This bolded part is absolute nonsense. Even if BB doesn't have good prices, 50% off their prices is SUPER SLICK for the majority of their items, if not all.

Don't be ridiculous. Also, you've posted this more than once, and its stupid.

I hate best buy, but Canon isn't excluded, monitors aren't excluded, a number of pro audio brands aren't excluded, etc. Even at 1 per person this would be the best deal of January without a doubt on SD.

DSLRs are excluded which is a major component of the Canon product line.
Monitors and the other stuff you will likely find either have had their prices raised or are out of stock.

Worst buy does not compete price-wise as a general rule. Every now and then they might have a sale on specific items that might be worth the trouble, but it is the exception to the rule in my experience. The only way they are not doing their usual finagling is if MC is underwriting the $50 discount and reimbursing BB for this offer (assuming it is real). Then sure, maybe they would not care and let anything go. Otherwise you can be pretty safe in assuming they are not going to let people get 50% off anything they already have slim margins on.

You are really confused about the exclusions. Only Nikon and Sony DSLRs are excluded.

Read closely:

Quote :
Digital Imaging: Sony camcorders,
digital cameras, NEX cameras, DSLR cameras, lenses & flashes; Nikon DSLR & compact system cameras, lenses & flashes & P510; GoPro cameras;
That means, Sony products and Nikon products.

Regardless, DSLRs are not what you should be buying with these coupons.

As for the rest of your post, your original argument was that BB's prices were so inflated that even $50 off $100 wouldn't be worth it if there were major exclusions, which is nonsense. My response had nothing to do with BB accepting these or not.

looks very legit, barcode looks generic, but in two hours I expect the east coast SD-ers to chime in

Per the coupon MC is NOT a sponsor of this promotion and assumes no liability for it.

Just so you guys know, legally speaking, Best Buy can attribute the coupon with a "typographical error," in which case, they are not legally required to honor the coupon if it was an "honest mistake" and if a "reasonable person" would've questioned the validity of the coupon (as all of you are doing here).

Quotation marks are used to denote a legal definition and not the standard lexicon definition.

That being said, it'll be a PR nightmare if they handle this the wrong way.

only 50% off something exactly $100 or if they allow you to use multiples in one transaction. $50 off a $1,000 tv is that great and doubt they will let you use 10 in one transaction.

idk what to even get besides giftcards.

Obviously you can't use more than one, come on now. I'm not even sure where you got that idea from my post.

Also, you seriously don't know what to get with $50 off $100? (assuming it works).

I don't want to be mean, but that's pretty unreal. Headphones, Speakers, Monitors, you name it...50% off of a $100 item, so easy to find great deals.

Guarantee if you find something there for $100, getting $50 off of it will be the hottest price you can find on whatever item/items you choose.

you do realize revenue is only part of the equation. the most recent 10q doesn't account for the past holiday season, but their y/y stats are abysmal. http://investing.businessweek.com...ticker=BBY

Uh, no.

This is definitely not BB just trying to give everyone $50 off $100 in order to "move merch."

Come on now, why are there so many clueless people in this thread??

It was an obvious oversight in the wording of a coupon that wasn't meant to be widespread. They forgot to put some very obvious restrictions in there (GC, one per person, unique barcodes, whatever)...and this is what you get.

THAT is what is happening. No way BB is going to be ok with this. It will be dead today, mark this post.

This is great if you are looking for Blurays and have a few movies to trade in. Knock some $20 or more Blurays down by $5, get your order up to around $100, then knock $50 off.
