Uh, no.

This is definitely not BB just trying to give everyone $50 off $100 in order to "move merch."

Come on now, why are there so many clueless people in this thread??

It was an obvious oversight in the wording of a coupon that wasn't meant to be widespread. They forgot to put some very obvious restrictions in there (GC, one per person, unique barcodes, whatever)...and this is what you get.

THAT is what is happening. No way BB is going to be ok with this. It will be dead today, mark this post.

you act like there are no exclusions in the CP shake head

if it were an oversight, why did someone take the friggin time to list so many exclusions?

It doesn't exclude computers and hardware/software. No way BB will honor this. No stores will take a 50% off hit on these products.

Edit: Okay, for some reason I thought this was 50% off lol.

you do realize revenue is only part of the equation. the most recent 10q doesn't account for the past holiday season, but their y/y stats are abysmal. http://investing.businessweek.com...ticker=BBY
As long as there are positives, they will not die yet.

yanks you have a closed mind that does not think outside the box. it does not exclude giftcards. so buy a giftcard and with the giftcard, buy whatever youd like
Exactly, that's what I'm buying.

Will try to use this multiple times.

There are exclusions, but they are not as encompassing as people in this thread are acting.

There are still tons of ridiculous deals to be had. All small electronics outside of bose products and ipods are included in the deal. All monitors, almost all speakers, almost all headphones. Computers, tablets, hard drives, etc. etc.

All I'm saying is, there is no possible way that BB is doing this as a marketing ploy to the point that they were thinking it would spread like it will. If this is indeed legit, and they MEANT for it to be widespread and for anyone to use, then this will be an unprecedented move by a large electronics retailer and a major money-losing move (read: millions upon millions of dollars). There is no way BB WANTS to lose money. The rationale behind it doesn't make sense.

Anyway, you guys can think what you want, but this definitely isn't some bold marketing move by BB, it is something that they will axe by the end of the business day because it will get out of hand.

no computers only cost $100 therefore this isn't a 50% hit like you say

$50 off a $500 computer is only 10%, a deal almost every store has all day long

MasterCard should be in the OP's title since that's kind of a major part of the deal.

it doesn't exclude computers, but if you notice this week the majority of their laptops are at full price. And this coupon is probably why.

for those that want to buy amazon gift cards, why not buy $100 amazon gift card and buy something small with it. Then walk over to customer service and return the small item. Seems like a workaround that should work. Customer service will just return that item...
