Barcode is blurry. Make sure you point that out to the manager. That will prove it's real. laugh out loud

I waited for half an hour at check-out, the store manager finished talking to the "corp" and claimed it a fake coupon by fellow SDers.

What a joke!

If you are not gonna honor it, don't send out those coupon.

its within reason they got hacked to deal with a PR issue...look at all the mad faces buiding so far, and it will be all week long.

44 pages of replies so far and only one person supplied that they were denied. The rest is just dreams. Come on people. This is not helpful. Bestbuy especially is not willing to lose millions of dollars.
lol try reading the BBY thread for the core i5 gateway laptop...every BBY thread becomes an entertaining read rather than a slickdeal....I seriously think BBY using SD in a way to promote themselves.

15-24? 24 doesn't belong in that range.
Agreed, 15-19 maybe? 20-24 is very different. lol

What was the fiasco there? The coupons worked. Yes, they did pull the coupon early. I used several of those with no problems.
I used all 12, on 2 visits Smilie the lady at HD even offered to help me scan all my items lol Big Grin

I'm trying to use it on kcups and ink in NJ and it's not working. The mgr now is checking too.
Mgr said it was a fake coupon and wouldn't take it.

my buddy who works at BBY headquarter told me this coupon has never been in their system so regular checkout would not work.......unless you find a nice store manager who kindly allow you to use it.
When the cashier rang up some items to see if the coupon worked it applied automatically. No Manager approval needed.

I can totally believe a store would say that, but Best Buy sent it in the email, so if they are fakes then Best Buy is the source of the fakes. In reality, it's just yet another hardnosed snotty manager (of which the majority are at Best Buy) pulling any old excuse out of the air to get out of letting someone get a good, legitimate deal (assuming you use it on stuff not excluded in the coupon).

So far it sounds like buying gift cards doesn't work unless you are one of the few lucky ones to get a manager to approve it, but for movies and games it should work without manager intervention (i.e. denial)?

What I'm hoping/wishing is I could get them to apply it to my purchases for the prior week.
Buy a duplicate of what you got last week and walk around in a circle as you go out and return the old ones(reciept)

Just FYI BB actually has a person devoted to search and either shut down the bestbuy coupons or extra slickdeal promo codes related to best buy discounts . I have a friend that works there and I have seen it myself in person . So I expect this thread to help them convince them the coupon is fake, with all this "fake" talk !!

what NJ stores have SD'rs been to?

Just got back from the Waterfront Best Buy in Pittsburgh. The lady in front of me had the coupon. The manager reluctantly gave her the deal on gift cards. I ran back and got 2 $50 cards and the manager, even more reluctantly, gave me the deal. But she was already talking to the associates saying that they would not accept any more coupons on gift cards. So I'd avoid the Waterfront Best Buy in Pittsburgh. She's a bit angry...

However, if you're not in the East, get to your local BB as soon as they open and be the first in line.

you are retarded....why should I have to use all that effort when BB should be selling it at Amazons price (and I will not get the 50% off)? Plus, I dont want to be forced to make a purchase right now at BB when I can take my time to think about it on Amazon. GC seems YMMV anyways so this doesnt matter anymore...

Yes...reminds me of the free destop/laptop memory deal/scam nearly 5 years ago lol...
Why should BB be required to sell it at the same price as Amazon? They provide more services than Amazon does. Amazon doesn't let you see the product before buying. Good luck getting any knowledge out of an Amazon CSR about a product. (yes, i realize its VERY YMMV with BB employees also, but they are at least product trained at some point). Amazon doesn't have the overhead of stores, store employees, etc that Best Buy does in order to provide those in store items. Also, try returning an item you just decide you don't want. Best buy - walk into the store and you have your money back. Amazon - Mail it back, wait for them to go over it, then maybe you will get a partial refund.
