Hmm...mom's friend needs a basic printer to go with her new laptop. Any suggestions? She really only needs B/W.
I do not recommend anything to anybody, but I'm perfectly satisfied with my Brother laser printer

There's a lot of shady stuff on SD (the H&R Block software thread is straight-up fraud, for example), but this is a legit coupon that people are trying to use in weird ways. Not "theft", though.

The real question is why is corporate telling some stores (like the ones in NY) to not accept it at all?

It seems that the only people who are getting this to work are with "manager overrides" which to me is really "theft". Its not a legit offer but the store is making an accommodation to not fight with you.
So far there have been a few SDers claiming that their purchases went through without an override. Not for GCs, but for actual merchandise like the guy above your post who just bought a portable hard drive.

Confirming this works. Bought a hard drive, got $50 off. Girl at the register just had to punch in the barcode manually. No hassle. Cleveland, Ohio

I waited for half an hour at check-out, the store manager finished talking to the "corp" and claimed it a fake coupon by fellow SDers.

What a joke!

If you are not gonna honor it, don't send out those coupon.

SHAME on u, BESTBUY!
If you feel like persuing a small claims case you could get treble damages. of the 50=150.
Fraud malice or oppression.
Document the posting by BB and Document the azzhat denying you.

I got the same email this morning, but the mastercard ad was not in it.
Scroll down to the bottom. It is after the one day sale ad. Mine is there.

The link directly from my email is http://click.emailinfo2.bestbuy.c...4aa4a897fd and it redirects to the PDF.

I would rather believe those managers made up the excuse themselves.

Been looking for a 24-27" monitor, this might expedite that process!

Got a 3DS XL at the Concord Mills location in Concord, NC. It took off the $50 from the $179.99 sale price also so I got it for $129.99 + tax.

The barcode wouldn't scan so the associate input it manually. The 50 off 100 promo text flashed across the screen but it didn't take the discount off automatically.

The associate read the fine print and said "Well, it doesn't say this is excluded" so he overrode it. I think they probably intended for video game hardware to be excluded but the way the coupon was made it looks like the exclusion is related to phones.

Ok so I was the first person in the store to present the coupon. The manager had me wait 30 minutes to verify with corporate since the coupon would not take off the $50 automatically. She then manually entered the coupon and said it is a problem nationwide according to the corporate office. When I was checking out another customer came up with the same coupon and she denied him saying they are going to wait till the system is corrected instead of doing manual overrides all day. Good luck everyone!
