Tried to use the coupon at office Depot... They tried really hard to honor it but their system wouldn't let them price override a gift card. Frown

LMAO Did the manager have to override?
He had to let the manager ride HIM, literally..

Long time lurking member here. I just tried this at the Perimeter store in Atlanta and it didn't work on anything (gc and regular items). There was another guy before me waiting on the GM for an override but they said the system has been down all day and it won't go through. GM didn't appear very happy either.

Okay, I just finished. Got $2,575 in Amazon gift cards and $125 in iTunes cards. I was fortunate to get an amazing manager who did the override for me, no questions asked, and she even rang these up in batches to expedite the process. My store had none of the $100 cards, so my order consisted of all $50 and $25 cards. I feel bad for clearing out my store, since I normally hate when people do this, but I have a newborn baby and her formula is expensive! I will post a pic when I get home later.
So how much did you save in total?

I'm going to try here in Columbus (Polaris) here within the hour. It sounds like gift cards are highly unlikely.
Let us know how it goes. I might hit up there as well on my lunch lol

From FW:

Went to 5th ave store in new york, the coupon wouldn't go through (I bought some games). They manually overrode it for me after manager approval.

The lady next to me tried to clean out their Amazon GCs. She got turned down saying that no copies are allowed, and gift cards are not allowed because it says no cash value.

BS of course, on the other hand the coupon wasn't going through. It would show up, but not take anything off.

Supposedly it's $50 off one item over $100.
Can anyone confirm if it's 1 item or a purchase of $100?

I need a Laptop and going to check out best buy today. Can I use this coupon?

Yes. If they give you any trouble....tell them sdman33 from Slickdeals approved the override.

No sir, you are the troll. And poor.
not really. it's hard to believe that some guy managed to get a manager to ignore the coupon rules and apply a coupon to thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

To recap: Coupon appears legit if you purchase something not on the exclusion list (few things). Everything else (including all gift cards) will require the luck of a manager override.

I correct my earlier statement, youre not wrong at a business standpoint. Its good BBY is offering PM with other retailers, but that doesnt mean BBY is on par with amazon. I dont mean youre a bad egg, i meant you just have bad experience with amazon to claim their CSR is bad. Now can we all live happily together?
My experiences isn't with one person that was bad, its Amazon's policies. I pointed out several policies that Best Buy has that are BETTER than amazon's. That's why I said, they each have their benefits.

This thread is extremely entertaining.
Agreed. As with many YMMV SD threads, this has turned into a philosophical debate of what is right and wrong.
