You know, that's the sad part. Of the 4 stores I went to today. 3 were ghostowns. Absolutely dead. Only 1 had a decent amount of people in it. And that's with the coupon.
The promo certainly worked on you, then!LMAO

Really? You didn't bother attempt to try buying a filler item with small value like $2-$5 together with a $100 BB GC to see if it worked? If you were lucky and did it early on the day, like BEFORE 2-3PM CST, you should be able to score BB GCs at half off. Then use them to convert to Visa Prepaid GCs at a later time.

Your creativity was limited, not the stock availability at BB!LMAO
Nah, the manager said gift cards were excluded. And I didn't try to fight it.

When I go to bed at night I have a hard time sleeping. I don't know how any of you can go through with this. Do you guys even realize what you are doing?

One time when I was in elementary school I stole a bunch of crayons. I knew it was wrong, but I did it because it was fun. When I was sitting in the principal's office with my parents answering questions, I learned my lesson for life.

I'm not even joking right now; you guys realize BestBuy is a person too right? They have to dole out millions of dollars to lobbyists to further their agenda, just like you and me! Taking gift cards from best buy is like stealing shoes from your neighbor's kindergartener. It feels good at first, but you know it's wrong. Best Buy is your neighbor's son, and those giftcards are their shoes.

Think about it. bulb
LOL yeah right. Best Buy is not a person. Their annual revenue is in excess of 50 billion making them the global leader in electronics. I believe they are the 10th largest online retailer as well. Pennies in the coffer for them. Even if you're a Best Buy fanboy, I dont have a clue as to your thinking. I'll just assume you're a troll looking for attention Smilie

While the best buy manager would not override gift cards (I knew they wouldn't, they are horrible), they surprisignly *did* honor it on a 21.5" 1080p LG IPS monitor. Was on sale at my store for $119.99, got it for $75.

Also managed to score a 1TB WD Black drive for $53.50, and another monitor (an AOC 22") for a similar price to the LG.

All in all.. hard to say this.. but thanks Best Buy o_O

And thanks op!

You haven't lost nor gained anything .... Ohh well you lost time, ink to print the coupon , paper, gas to drive to the store ....and you'll lose some sleep tonight as well. Not a good day for you. At least you didn't pay full price.

I wasn't very optmistic coming in at 8:30pm at the BB store in San Francisco on Harrison St. I should have taken work off this morning because apparently they all got the new memo. Was shot down several times by different cashiers. When I came in I ask for Kindle cards and they said they've ran out. They called the store on Geary St. and they also ran out. Not surprised.

So my alternative was to buy the open box MS Type Keyboard for the Microsoft Surface for $105.99. There was one that happens to be right on the cashier's counter so I took that and the cashier patiently read the coupon I brought in. It took him a while before he grabbed one off from another cashier and couldn't figure out if the Type Keyboard qualified. So he finally called his manager and he pointed out from their own memo that marked down items do not qualify. Of course I contested it but to no avail.

So I went to look for the Panasonic 3D glasses but they don't have it. Found an iHome iPhone/iPod dock clock radio for $99.99 then went to a different cashier. The cashier will not deduct the $50 coupon because it's a penny short. That the $100 total has to be the subtotal before tax. I ask if he can just add a penny and call it a night but he said he couldn't override it. I asked for the manager and he said even the manager couldn't do it. I then took the item to the back to try another cashier. He said the same thing and even lied that managers cannot override the transaction but he said I can add another item to make the total go over $100. So I picked up a Hershey's bar and then they tried to enter the coupon but it will not take it. Cashier said that it has to be for a single item.

I was the last patron in the store and the cashier asked if I want to buy something I should do it soon as they were closing. So I asked them to just give me a Kindle Paperwhite because that's over $100. He asked another guy to bring the item but then he said that the coupon was a mistake, that it should be for $1000 purchase instead of $100. WTF! I told them that they were just making this up as we go along. So the two salesguys walked off arguing and finally they came back to me with a piece of paper and showed me that the coupon is only good for tablet and ereader ACCESSORIES.

I called it a night. No success. Shot down several times. I envy those lucky ones who got in early and got several Kindle cards. It was easy money. A 100% profit per $100 card. Next step I guess is to just go to the Office Depot next door and pricematch using the coupon with the expiry date of January 27. Too bad BB don't sell Nexus 7 (I wonder why).

yes its the burbs of the WA. I serious shit my pants when the cashier didn't blink and eye and applied the discount like secound nature. This was like 30min before closing and i was sure they got the memo or sumthin. I then told him about me needing a lot of books for travel and school so he let me do more since no line. I then got some more and brought to customer service and i didn't even use a master card i used my visa debit card. the second cs rep also took it off manually without manager override. I was going to do it earlier but was stuck at work. so this was great
Dang dude. I think I know what store you're talking about but I didn't want to make the drive over when the exclusions were updated. Regretting sooooo much right now.

I think the one you purchased comes with built in backup software and mac compatibility, hence the extra cost

I understand where your coming from and im not trying to attack you because I used to think like that too but I disagree with you post

unless im mistaken your saying because someone(corporation) has money and does something wrong (lobbying) then everyone else should as well? that is not a world I want to live in. We shouldn't expect these corporations and society to be become good if we ourselves are bad. And I care about God and believe in an afterlife and want myself, family and God to be happy with my actions at the end of my life.

And ripping off these companies like Best Buy is not going to fix anything in society but it will cause more problems. Instead how about we find different legit ways to fought against greed or corruption.

Will Office Depot take Best Buy $50 off $100 MC coupon? Do they view Best Buy as a "competitor"? I always thought their competitors are Stapels and OfficeMax only.
