I was up for a basic monitor, so I thought I could take the advantage to use the $50 discount. In my local BB, almost all monitor was on sale (as advertised), and store manager told me if the price is on sale, I cannot use the coupon. I was disappointed, and told her that all Monitor around $100 is either gone or put on sales price (markdown to near $100 ~ $150). I didn't want to spend more than $100 bucks for a monitor. So I ask her if I can buy the 20" Insignia monitor with regular price $109 instead of sales price $99.99, then apply the coupon. The manager first refused me, then I ask her to look around her own store. There is NO Monitor around my price range is in regular price. Everything was on SALE! The manager told me maybe she could find me a refurb one and allow me apply the $50 coupon. But her sales associate couldn't find one for her. So she end up sell me the monitor with regular price - $50. $60 dollar for a 20" LED. Not too bad of a deal tonight!

Was just about to leave the house to hit the gym around 9am, when I thought, "Gee, there should at least be something trending on Slickdeals." Found this thread at page 4 and slickdealers were already looting the Best Buy on the East Coast. It was facinating, greed had seized me. Crazy

Families casually strolling to the gift card isle, were immediate enemies and I started grabbing in handfuls. Smack

I kept thinking of that 300 movie quote, "Give them nothing but take from them everything." Numchucks

At the end of the day, I sat in the parking lot and had a catharsis or spiritual release. Was it because I reached my goal, or from what I had become. Weeping

I went into Best Buy in North DFW and was told I couldn't use it because it had to be something I received in the mail.
B.S. bc I did it in 3 different stores. Though one store tried to tell me it would apply after I swiped my card (I knew better)...

LOL yeah right. Best Buy is not a person. Their annual revenue is in excess of 50 billion making them the global leader in electronics. I believe they are the 10th largest online retailer as well. Pennies in the coffer for them. Even if you're a Best Buy fanboy, I dont have a clue as to your thinking. I'll just assume you're a troll looking for attention Smilie
For a second there, I thought Mitt Romney joined this thread. What I do not understand though is why I, for a second or two, felt frightened by the possibility...?

I used my $600 in gift cards to build a 12TB NAS array (not including ~$100 in computer parts I already had laying around.)

Imagine that, a 12TB raid 5 NAS for $300. I used to hate Best Buy, but now I love them. I still won't shop there though.

EDIT: Hey I just thought of something, maybe we can have best buy foot half of the bill for that Death Star? We'll just have to get congress to have the government go to best buy to get some amazon gift cards.

i believe you accept the offer when you make a [successful] payment.

when you enter a store, there are all kinds of offers from the merchant....in the form of price stickers. you might even have floor people throwing prices at you. you might have a coupon or even a sales flyer.

here's how a normal ordinary transaction works that a judge can accept:

if you like something you see, you present it to the cashier. the cashier rings up the purchase (along with all the written and verbals) and FINALLY presents you with an offer. you officially express your approval of that offer not by screaming Halleluah or saying "I'll take it" or "I love that price" but by paying for it.

THAT is when the deal is done. Your rights begin when you successfully pay for the product, not when you pick it up off the shelf and nod at the price tag or when you shake hands with the person that helped you come to a price or when you and the store catalog had a meeting of the minds.

It's late so I don't have time to look into this further. But you are right about one thing, if you feel you have been wronged, you are free to go to court with it.

can't tell if serious.
/sarcasm, does that help?

They always have. Went to OD today after my ink purchase was denied at BB (apparently single item has to be $100). I handed OD cashier the coupon, manager nearby came over to put an override number, and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Could have gotten a VISA gift card there too, but I only had one coupon in hand. Nevertheless, I really needed the ink, so I was satisfied to go home not empty handed.
Thanks. I may try Office Depot.
