Q about Staples, can you do a Price Match and use a comp coupon in one transaction?
Its YMMV, some managers consider that double dipping and will allow you to use the higher of the two discounts. Some will allow it. In general, most offers are not to be combined with others, hence YMMV.

ahh, the golden days of SD. Yes, the bad apples have really put a bad taste here in exploiting EVERY deal they can. Getting a legit deal is no longer enough for some, its going beyond the deal in any form, regardless of others, so to brag about it that seems to give people that better high of getting a slick deal. That bunch just keeps growing Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Yup, keeps growing, and it's merging with the fake coupon crowd.

Of course its an inside job.
Honestly, all it takes is a generous cashier. The managers at the store I went to had no problem ringing up gift cards with the coupon. They were very accommodating and helpful. I ended up with $1,900 in gift cards and a Kindle Paperwhite and I wasn't even in my hometown. I was out of town visiting my girlfriend for the weekend. So definitely didn't have an inside man or anything. Just be nice and most times someone is willing to help you.

This is such a said thing to see as everyone thinks it was so cool to rip the company off, well I do not think you are cool, it is an embarrassment that people like you exist.
Do you even know how many people are involved to put such an offer live yet they still released it? Anyone without business skills can see it immediately that it's not a good idea for the company.

And we still don't know if MC or BB will pay the bill... so I ask you politely, just stfu.

Oh I had no clue it's Woodland Park, if someone had asked me where's Woodland Park I'll be completely clueless laugh out loud BB's website still lists it as W Paterson in their store locator. Yeah that road is pretty rough back there you definitely want to spare your car from there. There's always that security patrol car (think it's a Honda Fit) hanging around outside the "WP" store for some reason...

I don't like to generalize, but yes it seems some staff in some stores are friendlier than others. When I look for openbox and clearance deals, I always call first to make sure they actually have the item. The store on RT23 in Riverdale is the friendliest of them all on the phone. Great staff at that location, I was in and out in 3 minutes when I picked up my PS3 3D display.

Actually Its Woodland Park since West Paterson changed the name of their town to Woodland Park a few years back. WP to WP? See what they did there? Like how Elmwood Park used to be East Paterson. Very Clever! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

i know about this but don't like the crazy potholes so I risk 46, I usually drive the sports car anyway so its only an excuse to open it up!

I hate the WP Best Buy, not every Best Buy. And the only reason I didn't use the coupon was because I saw the typical WP Store crap attitude of indifference by the blue shirts and the bullying of the geek squad. The one by where I work in East Hanover on Rt. 10 is an absolute 180 difference from this store. Everyone is nice and people want to help. What can I say, it is literally how they treat you.

There is an EASY fix for this. Associate coupons with reward zone accounts. BB has already shown they can do this. This kills the abuse probably by 90%. You won't have Bill Smith using a coupon with Nancy Adams reward zone account on it. Also, you won't have lurkers, non-RZ members able to use the coupon unless they sign up, meaning you increase your RZ members.

Money wise...they couldn't...on the gift cards.

PR wise...who knows...but given that the coupon originally said till the 27th...that probably will piss off a lot of people that waited.

Well, I didn't get the deal of the century or anything, but I did manage to get a nice 32" LCD TV for $149.99. It was $229.99, on sale for $199.99, the coupon scanned perfectly fine (typed in) and my total was $149.99 before tax. This was around 6:30pm EST last night.

The girl at checkout told me that it was insane earlier with people buying tons and tons of stuff with the coupons, and that they had a meeting going over what NOT to allow. She also told me it would not work on ANY sale item, including my TV, and I told to to humor me and scan it anyway. Of course it went through without any issue or manager being called. I scanned my card ASAP and walked out with a decent deal.

Unbelievable the amount of people who think anyone using the coupon within its stated limitations is somehow ripping off the company. Here's an idea, BBY, don't release a coupon you aren't ready to handle.

honestly, they probably had MORE customer yesterday than the whole month added together. I highly doubt they were operating at a loss
