BB would have got a much better reaction once they pulled the coupon and started denying it by giving anyone with a coupon(limit one) a $10 BB GC as a token for the inconvenience. That would guarntee that the customer would come back. And at least create some goodwill.
You no absolutely nothing about marketing. I would not waste my time or gas to use a $10 BB GCBig Grin

When I went to best buy at 4:30pm yesterday, I saw so many fat people running from their cars to the entrance. If Best Buy did anything good yesterday, it was getting those fatties heart rates up even if for just 45 seconds.

Right b/c slickdealers definitely wouldn't have gone to extreme lengths to visit each store multiple times to take advantage of this , right?

Most of the rest of the world hates us (mainly just Africa and the middle east) because we are a "christian" nation. The middle east hates us based on how we treat women alone, much less how we use coupons.
Not to get too political... but they hate us because of how we treat "them"... like we know it all and have all the answers.

Not to mention the people complaining that 50 percent wasnt a big enough discount to offset high prices, you think they would be happy with 10 percent?

That is your opinion. You are entitled.

Just because YOU wouldn't go that doesn't mean alot of others wouldn't.

People on this board trip over themselves for a $5 gift card to anything.

$10 would get a lot of people to come back in.

All I am saying is that a geture would have ben the a better approach then just turning some people away.

I cannot believe that the original coupon is STILL on their server.... I have access to the original email that provides the link and it still opens... There is going to be a lot of upset shoppers (NOT abusers) starting today through Sunday.

Generally, I say "To each his own," when it comes to stuff like this. However, it really is sad to see this site turning into a hangout for those with an insatiable need to turn a slick deal into a scam for personal profit. Not only do you ruin things for everyone else with your greed, but you encourage businesses to reconsider trying to offer great opportunities to their customers. Once again, the bad apples spoil things for the whole bunch, and do it proudly. You're not just "getting over" on the big, bad corporations, you know. You're disrespecting everyone, including yourselves. Please, look up the "Golden Rule" some time. In the meantime, celebrate your selfish behavior, and brag about how you took advantage of companies who tried to do something nice for you. End of sermon. Happy shopping, everyone.
I totally agree with you. I was also told Best Buy intended this deal to go to Rewardzone Silver members. Last year I spent 3 times the minimum to reach/keep my silver membership. I received this deal via e-mail. I went to the stores after work and was denied several times. For those who actually got the deal, did you receive the offer by e-mail at all? Probably not.

In the end, Best Buy must accept most of the responsibility. When JC Penny gives out electronic coupon to individual customer, the codes are unique. Also, if Best Buy wanted to minimize the loss, they could have informed the store to offer this deal only to the silver members. There were many things Best Buy could have done but they did nothing except pissing off their most loyal customers.

I don't want Best Buy to go out of business. Amazon will always have the edge on price due to the tax. But occasionally they beat everyone by a mile. I buy a lot of Blu-ray movies and their Black Friday deals (which lasted til Christmas) broke the record for the lows. Many titles cost $20 at Amazon and Best Buy sold them for $3.99. Also, Best Buy has free shipping with no minimum unlike Amazon.

I used the coupon yesterday, but did not receive email. However, when I logged into my work account this morning, for which I have a reward zone I don't use, I had the coupon there. The one from Monday still opened on Best Buy site, and I did not receive any kind of notification it was bad. Bottom line, I would be pissed if I had gone to use today having gotten it legit in an email and not been able to. Very happy I got in when I did (couple of PS3 games and was able to use on Wonderbook Move bundle).

Curious to know, so were you able to use it on something else?

I wish I'd seen it in time yesterday!

I
No. I did not want to buy anything else. I just walked out of the store.

I firmly believe some cashiers are looking for jobs! I run retail business and store has strict policy - if the coupon says 1 item per purchase and if the cashier does something wrong that cashier is out.

FYI, I am not against coupon use but use it wisely and not to abuse it. Take for example, Staples price match and coupons of course.
