IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME:
Item: $100 Itunes GC
Reason: Copies not accepted- as per manager; and printed on coupon & you have to personally get the email- MC and Best Buy is aware that people are bringing copies
Location: New York, NY

Picked up Motorola SB6141 Cable Modem last night for $50 with a filler. It required a manager override since it was less than $100 by itself. Didn't even know they carried this model!
I was going to get this today with the coupon, but since it looks like they killed it I am left with the old Time Warner crappy modem.

Way to go folks, you screwed over those who wanted to use this coupon legitimately...

Told yesterday in Lewisville, TX that I had to go home and get the original coupon, which would have been sent to me in the mail. Argued with several "managers" about this, how it was an online coupon, they did not care, told me to go home and get the real coupon or I wasn't getting anything. Tried to go in this morning, and they are not honoring anything. Spoke to a new manager about the situation, he didn't care either. This company is the worst. Used to work there years ago, should have known better.

Tried to call their "corporate" customer service department, keep getting transferred and finally hung up on. Best Buy is awful, done shopping there, period.

You missed my point by a lot. We're hated because Americans are seen as selfish, self-serving, entitled, over indulging society. Stuff like we've seen in this thread just proves that.
This thread has proven that Americans are "(a) selfish, self-serving, entitled, over indulging society"? That sounds a bit far-fetched to me.

This not only highlights BB's mistake, but highlights the type of folks that are on SD.

I expect Best Buy to be out of business in the next 5 years.

Very curious. Best buy just put out this notice on the original coupon
http://www.hotdealsclub.com/text/bestbuy62/
which would imply that the original coupon is still valid, except that, well, just about
every single item in the store is excluded (I think a list of what is included would be
less than one tenth the size of the excluded list).

So apparently, they have several plans to completely kill this coupon.
So those that scored yesterday won big, and those of us that didn't get to use it
are one monster public relations nightmare for a store that is clearly losing it.
That list was distributed yesterday afternoon before the second version of the coupon with the new expriation date of 1/21/2013.

That list started with what was INCLUDED but no one seems to see that one word.

You called the toll free number didn't you? That's the wrong number. You have to call the 612 number. The service at the toll free number is as bad as you describe. Been there, done that. The 612 number though.... the service is top notch. I even have my own personal rep that helps me out each time. She absolutely top notch. Very professional.

Exactly.

Radio Shack hands out coupons with unique codes so they can't be abused. Radio shack does unique codes for their $5 of $40 and $10 off $10. Sears does somewhat better with reward points accumulation and subtractions. These guys are not competition to Best Buy (IMO) yet they are doing these tasks better than Best Buy, from my personal experience.
I totally agree as I mentioned earlier about JC Penny coupons. The problem is Best Buy's system cannot handle unique coupon codes. That is the reason why I take manufacturer's coupon to Best Buy and they always have to enter the discount manually.

If they simply limit the coupon to those who actually print out the e-mails or have premier silver, then the damage would have been very limited.

Not just SD, people in general. Its because everyone wants money. If we adopted some "Star Trek currency", we wouldn't have this problem, just more lazy asses lol.
