Ok so the date was a typo or the coupon was as a whole was a typo. BB was nice enough to keep the coupon active for one day so people can abuse it. I bought my Nifty Fifty and I am happy with it. If you missed out, too bad and move on to the next SD, PM, and YMMV deals.
I agree. BB could have killed it instantly. They didn't. Like I've said before, this deal has left me with nothing but warm fuzzies about Best Buy. Although I'm going to be shy about going into the store anytime soon. They know me at all the stores, I go in a lot regardless. Last night during my last run, I ran into the mgrs at 2 stores again. Do these people work all day or what? One said, "Back again."

I called the number on my Silver card. The girl said it was not a reward zone email. She did however, give me a bit of compensation for my trouble. Not as good as the coupon, but such is life.

Just called BB Premier Customer Services and told them "I went to store # XXX yesterday and the manager was rude". Their (BB) response: "So sorry to hear that, here's a $50 reward certificate, I just loaded it to your account". My response: "Thank You!". Total call length (including wait time <5Min)

Thanks, repped!!!!!

I was just informed by a BB employee (Post Purchase Support) that the plan is to cancel the gift cards that haven't been redeemed and refund the original method of purchase. I don't know how true, legal, or possible that statement is but I thought I would share. I'm not going to wait around to find out though.
Furthermore, BB gonna contact the FBI and they together will RAID your house to recover those GCs! Be prepared to have your front doors kicked down later tonight or very soon. They will go by the order of the transactions. So if you got your GCs early in the day yesterday, your house will be raided first!

Yeah sure. Great trolling. But great idea though. Why not? Anything to flood that BB CSR phone line!

Too funny. No consequences for the consumers who violated the rules of the coupon that clearly says "no copies" by copying it 10 or 20 times to score thousands in gift cards..
Copies? What's a copy? If you print it out from the PDF each time then each one is an original. If that's considered a copy then all PDF coupons are copies. Terms like that were meant for old school physical coupons. It's boiler plate that's been cut and pasted from a era that is no longer relevant. In the age when someone is suppose to print out their own coupons, and they haven't set up a system to limit the number of times that can occur, then it's irrevelant. Best Buy could have mailed out physical coupons like they sometimes do with their rewards zone offers.

You should have bought the 40mm pancake lense as well. At $100 (after the discount)+tax, it's a great bargain for that great lense!
I would love to get that lens, but I only have a T1i. I believe you need a T4i or greater for it to focus correctly since it is a STM. Also, I am still reading reviews that that the 50mm is still a better value.

Let me start out by saying that I participated in this event and was able to score $200 worth of Amazon GCs for $100 and I slept like a baby last night night. With that said I want to address a few things.

To the folks simply hanging out in this thread to throw jabs at fellow SD'ers who participated in this promotion (or SD'ers who wished they could participate):

Why are you here? This is a serious question, not meant to be snarky. You believe SD has become a place for greedy lurkers, blah blah. "SD used to be a place to find a good deal but now it's become a breeding ground for scammers, blah blah blah". Why not take a stand and withdraw your participation and interest in a site that you believe supports and does not discourage the aforementioned?? If I personally felt the way you did , I would not allow myself to remain part of such a community. I am serious. If I for a second felt that way about ANY place I frequented I would cease my involvement. It is not enough to spout your disappointment in the downfall of this site, by systematically posting behind others who are celebrating their deal victories. I am a firm believer in not just talking about it...but about BEING about it. We both know why you are still here and still monitoring this thread. Keep judging, but also keep watching...in case the deal just might work for you.

Secondly, do you truly understand morality? I don't find there to be much difference between scoring $200 worth of GCs or $2000 worth of GCs. There are no degrees of morality (if in fact you consider this to be immoral). There is no difference between the person who was able to obtain a BOSE product that was on the exclusion list and the GC hunter; if you truly believe neither were intended for use w/ the coupon. Each purchase starts off with seeing whether or not you can receive a deal. You ask and if the manager/store representative says yes, the purchase is allowed. It's like getting a great deal but then pursuing the avenue of free shipping on top of the deal. Why? Why ya gotta push the free shipping when you already have the deal? Because you want an even BETTER deal. But you aren't a scammer? You figured out if you say the right words to online chat you can get free shipping. You share what you told customer service with the site. Or you got a free shipping code and you shared it with the ENTIRE thread. Some say hero or nice guy, but by the same definition you are creating a situation the company did not intend. There are no degrees. It is all starts out the same...wanting a good deal.

You tell yourself you have limits, but it all counts, if it counts at all.

Better value? Maybe, but I think the 40mm is a better lens. At these prices, it was only $40 more, it was a no brainer.

Best Buy could have limited the abuse by that line and simply said 1 per reward zone account and use that to track it.

Now the abusers have ruined it especially for the people who legitimately received the coupon.
