Some of you guys running around trying to get price matches need to think of what your time is worth. I used to do the same thing, arguing with managers, calling corporate blah blah, and then after putting hours into it you might get $10. That's below minimum wage people. Remember, when you get the $50 off at Best Buy, you have to take into account they have high markups, so a lot of people are only saving $25-30 . If you live or work right next to a store it doesn't hurt, but devoting anymore time than that to this "deal" is going to leave you upset. Just let it go.

I try to live by just one rule that my parents taught me: treat others as you would like to be treated. That's all. You all can argue about the legality and the morality and feel good about your major haul of gift cards or whatever, but one day, when you get screwed by someone else, and it will inevitably happen, just know that person is justifying it just as you are doing now.
News release: Best Buy engages legal council and pursues recent theft of Gift Cards by scammers, negating their purchased GC’s and refunding changes, charges perpetrators with retail felony theft, issues warrants for retrieval of items purchased with stolen Gift Cards, etc …. Win or lose Best Buy with be making a statement and is justifying it just as you are doing now.

It could happen, theft if theft..... No retailer I know of will make change, changing $1.00 for 50¢

How is it a bait and switch if the posted list price is $99.99 but the manager gave him 20 off because of the fiasco? He didn't have to. If you are in sales you should know giving away anything is not profiting. You profit by selling at the maximum price possible.
I'm in sales, and a profit is a profit. Items sold at above cost is profit... The more, the better though.

more social commentary please

also someone who's "defending" best buy please tell me how I'm an immoral person for attempting to buy an item for 100 dollars that was not on the exclusions list of the revised coupon and how best buy was right to ask for my email and private information.

yeah after they wanted that I left and left the 100 dollar item as well as other stuff that the coupon wouldn't be applied towards. Guess I stuck it to them by not giving them a single penny
Because the deal was a special deal for silver members only. They screwed up by not publishing that on the coupon. As for sticking it to them, not really, because they work at the store and you had to drive there so you're out of time and gas but left empty handed. Either way, BB did screw up but they also have the rights to fix it as soon as they found out.

Manager refused to honor the coupons for the GC. Yesterday they sent me back saying the system hasn't been updated yet, you can come tomorrow. When I went back today, they said the deal is off. I bought some GoPro accessories, got the deal on those though.
Reported complain by calling the BB Support.

because it probably goes on sale for that price anyway and a sale today is better then none tomorrow.. and a customer that NEVER comes back over this.

its bait and switch because they lured him in for $50 off a hundred and he walked with only $20... the original coupon said per purchase not per item. 99.99 item a coke met the original terms.

If that's the case, why does the revision not mention Silver members?

i was denied at staples and OD this morning. all they saw was MASTERCARD and said its was a MC promo, not a BB promo. i didn't press the issue.
but the old coupon states on the bottom that it is a BB promo.
In bold it says
" MasterCard is not the sponsor of nor shall have liability for this promotion"
Confused

BB probably would lose that case. Original coupon had no limit on usage and did not omit GC. It was totally YMMV It was totally up to BB to accept it or not.
Were some people greedy. YES they were -but they didn't steal the cards. Every transaction was Ok's by a BB Manager or team member and paid for by a customer.

I agree. Just like driving across town to save 3-4 cents on a gallon of gas. By the time you get there and back you'll have spent all the savings plus some.

my local Best Buy has been price-matching Amazon, Target, Walmart, WireFly, Let'sTalk,
Costco, and even NewEgg for the last couple of months. They must be desperate, no?
District Manager and Store Manager are desperate to raise sales quota. If he's store performs bad, BB will close it down.
