Police: Chase starts after theft at Best Buy HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -

A 26 mile police chase through north Harris County started in Conroe Monday night, according to authorities.

Police said two people walked out of the Best Buy store on I-45 with televisions and laptops.

Gift card purchases had to go through the activation. They may be able to track back the activation.
Correction: Not "may", but "will". It's a simple process.

Regarding Apple TV's, Best Buy cannot make customers return the items for refund. But they can deactivate giftcards and give people their money back like Rite Aid did to me. The real question is will they. That would depend heavily on the bottom line on Monday.

And you seriously believe if they could do that for gift card purchases they couldn't track down other "scamming" purchases made with the coupons that weren't excluded, like the Apple TV.

So you took advantage of yesterday's deal and still called in today?
Yes. I also was planning on purchasing a pair of headphones and in fact was at the register with them in a bag in my hand. The cashier already had entered the discount, and I was about to swipe when the manager came over and told him to cancel the transaction because they were not going to accept anymore of the coupons for the rest of the day. I explained this to the CSR and she gladly issued a gift card and expressed it to my address so I could go back this week and finish the transaction i was in the middle of. Not sure if it made a difference but I'm a Premiere Silver card holder and have spent over $1,200 this calendar year already.

And i hope you get absolutely nothing ... Seriously? You sound like a spoiled little child. You were not "punished". They didn't have to offer any coupon, but they did and left a part out, that they later corrected. You are not "hurt" in any way from this. If they had never posted the coupon you would be in the same position you are right now. So therefore you are not entitled to ANY compensation.
why? i wasnt plan to sell them. they are all for my own use.

And yes, they have robbed me my right and money. The money i did not safe = money lost.

Also, this has nothing to do with humanity. It is just exercising constitutional right.

Am i greedy? yeah maybe. cuz i want to buy things half price. Am i an inhuman person? No. I do my share of goods all the time.

Exploiting a coupon doesnt make me inhuman.

Oh wait. I thought just a few posts back it was definately possible.....
It depends on how much Best Buy actually lost and the weather at the corporate office.
Anything is definitely possible. Target even knew whether someone's daughter is pregnant before him. Big Grin

I don't believe in karma. But I do believe strongly not to push people or anything to the brink. When I got this offer by e-mail, I print one copy and took it to Best Buy to buy some movies. They turned me down even though my purchase would have made Best Buy money. Same goes for people who bought coffeemakers, video cards, harddrives,...etc. However, those who claimed to walked away with $12,000 worth of giftcards, they are simply trying to exploit Best Buy's mistake and make a huge profit for themselves (and huge loss for Best Buy). That's very borderline theft in my opinion. But I understand people are taught differently and my moral standard shouldn't be imposed on others.

Like I said, even if I lose my argument in semantics, the argument is a reflection of the kind of person you are.
I now see why you continue to argue in this thread now. Makes perfect sense.

Posting my experience here since a lot of newcomers still aren't seeing it:

Edit by ReanimationXP, 1/22/13 @ 12:24pm:
Deal is dead officially, but a correction like this is false advertising! Don't let this one die so easily, SDers!

I just called 1-888-BestBuy and explained that the manager at the Camelback location in Phoenix, AZ was refusing to honor the deal of the printout I had, and warned this could bring about a false advertising lawsuit. She was very nice and helpful. I was trying to buy Amazon gift cards which she could not pull up online (I coudn't either), but she offered to mail me a $100 gift card and only charge me $50 for it. She also double-checked that I would be able to buy an Amazon gift card with my Best Buy giftcard once it comes in. YMMV, good luck!

EDIT: I just mentioned how they took care of the guy below me with the Keurig, and she sent me $150 gift cards for the price of $50 and express shipped them to me without me even asking! This is incredible! They really don't want a lawsuit http://static.slickdealscdn.com/imag...lies/smile.gif
Didn't work for me. They were so sorry but couldn't do anything MadMad

But do you have a good sense of the norm or proportionality? Good luck with your quest.
