Only 793 thumbs ups....come on people stop being greedy...I know OP doesn't need the Rep but come on REP recognize REP!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: Best Buy working with slickdeals to identify all the people who thumbed up and got the deal. Buyer beware....All part of legislation to make people use their real identity online.

By far the best deal this year.

Waiting for Target to make the same Buy 1 Get 1 free game deals.
Repped for creativity.

sometimes I wish I have more kids... say 17 kids? sign up each one with RewardZone. Smilie
SD mentality...get 17 kids to get extra perks.

Call BB Corporate and complain for 2-3 hours to get 10-20 bucks gift card, rather than working.

Just worked for me. They said that they had sent out a notice that it was no longer being offered, and the manager told the cashier that he could take it or not he would back him up. The cashier said that I brought it in and had it printed in color so he took it... I was buying ink. Got XL black and regular color cartridges for my printer (950XL 951 tripack) for $51... If I was using my Best buy Master card it would have given me another 10% off... (off of the 51, not full value they had to discount the ink.) If I were trying to screw them over I could return the color tripack and get the XL black for $11..... But I need the color too!

And so far the cases cited where gift card balance was pulled involved the same store gift card. For this, Best Buy has to go convince several other merchants to cooperate and help them pull the balance. I am not sure those other merchants will be receptive to what one could argue that it was BB screw up.
Good point.

BB messed up. Customers did nothing but follw the rules on the coupon. That is a fact. And the thing spiraled out of control.

BB should just takes their losses and improve their marketing department to the point where they can issue a CORRECT coupon.

BB has every right to stop accepting the coupon just as the customer had every right to use the coupon within the rules that were stated on it.

Often gift cards at the stores are underwritten by some 3rd companies for financial purposes...
Still the store has authority over their cards and the credits in the cards. Not the same situation here with several different merchants involved, or are you saying there is no difference? If they have to pull Amazon gift card balance, you don't have to involve Amazon in some way? If the balance is already redeemed and in an account somewhere, who has the authority to go into those accounts? Best Buy? Does Amazon want to get into possible legal mess too?

Did they think you were going to sell the systems to Cuba? The cashiers can care less...half the time they are texting.

Maybe it was sarcasm....
I used Target Red card on different days, and received the warning through the mail.

Really - better than the NFL Visa card yielding $400? Not sure everyone took 24 gift cards to the cash register yesterday. For most, it was simply 50% off. About what every front page deal yields here.

The ones defending the mistake and calling it bait and switch and a business scam are obviously the ones who have never made a mistake. They are the ones that never sent an email with a mistake, never sent an email to the wrong person, never taken a wrong turn, never did any wrong actions that they wish they could take back. Im curious, how many folks really do reckonize and accept their mistakes or do they use the same logic and find some way to say what they did was this or that.

Could you imagine what kind of world this would be if people did not forgive others for their mistakes. The small minded excuse of BB being a big company, they can handle this exploit is just ignorant, but if you took this to the person to person level of not being able to excuse someone's mistake, I would hate to see what that would look like.
We make mistakes, but we can't simply issue an apology on them and get off free and clear. If we mistakenly lose our receipt but want to return an unopened item to Best Buy, can we? If we make a mistake and miss payments on a house or car, can we simply send them in late multiple times? If we make a mistake on our taxes, can we send the IRS or the State an email saying "sorry for the inconvenience"? Wait...that's not how Best Buy even does it. Can we put a note on our mailbox that says "sorry for the inconvenience"?

edit: Do you recognize your mistake?

edit 2: You act like buying discounted gift cards is an atrocity. You do know that they often times sell gift cards at a straight discount right?

Can we stilll use the coupon today? I am not talking about GC purchasing... just general item
No but you can use the original coupon at OD, OM and Staples for PM. Get that tablet, ereader or accessory for $50 off! It's YMMV. The worst that can happen is they'd say no and give you a scornful look. Print the attached coupon and give it a try.

Another rationale reasoned response. Repped.

I wasn't able to get in on the deal yesterday. If I had known it was only going to be one day instead of one week, I would have gone yesterday and gotten the dock that I wanted to buy. I called up premiere silver support and told them what I was going to do and would have done yesterday if I knew it was only going to be a one day thing. They gave me 2500 rewards points. I printed out my certificate and I'm off to best buy to get my dock.

I'm happy, but I'm also not crazy abusing it like some people want to.
