Anyone know if the Calling in to get a $50 Gift Card still works as of today?

Question for you. I was expressly given permission, not just by the coupon, but by the manager of the store I went to. I asked him specific situations, such as "can I use this on gift cards, and can I use it more than once?'. He explicitly gave me permission for both. Like others, I went to the store to try to get a set of $100 gift cards for $50, expecting to be shot down, and then to use the coupon on another item (namely a mechanical keyboard). Instead, I asked the manager, he gave me permission, so I bought a few sets of the gift cards AND the keyboard. Does that make me a bad person?
I'm not qualified to judge if a person is bad or not. I think we were always talking about the abusers, those who walked away with thousands of dollars worth of giftcard. $50 hit from one person won't bankrupt Best Buy. But a $5,000 hit from every store on giftcards alone and you do the math.

I'm sure Best Buy doesn't care about those who bought $100 coffeemaker for $50 off or even a couple of giftcards.

Very simple, if you don't like the thread, don't read it. wave
It's beyond that. Waste of SD bandwidth and resources. Save those for deals. Talk is cheap, esp when it doesn't help one to make $$$.

Last post in this thread from me. Out. Promise!

I called twice and got the same answer both times. Just that they are sorry and they cannot do anything about it. Said that notification went out that is was only good for one day, blah blah. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she could not transfer but can create a case on it. I can tell she really wanted to get off the phone with me.

So then your issue is not with people who used the coupon as written, but those who used it beyond what you think is reasonable. See the issue there? Where's the cutoff? At what point does one go from being a user to an abuser of the coupon?

The fact is, even by themselves, most stores refused to allow people to purchase gift cards with the coupon. It was the rare store that allowed it, and an even rarer store than allowed more than 1 purchase. You're applying moral judgements on those who were given permission (tacit or express) to use the coupon. You say you're not qualified to judge morality, but in your previous comment you said "But a decent person should put a limitation". Maybe those people did, but their limitations were different than where you or I would put the limit. Does that make them bad? Not in my opinion, but by your statements, it does in yours.

Strange. Yesterday I got shipping confirmation for my orders. Today, I got a notification that they were in process and will be shipped soon. But according to the tracking number on my shipping confirmation yesterday, they are well on their way. Is Best Buy progressing to recall my shipped orders?

But anyone with real common sense will ask the question when they see "No copies. No dealers" on the coupon, why would it matter if I print extra copy from pdf or use zerox machine to photocopy another print-out? In most cases photocopy and printer print-out are indistinguishable. Something must be wrong!

We've been thru this yesterday. Two types of people will emerge. Some people (including me) will think Best Buy probably forgot to mention one copy per customer or something like that. I know this group is the minority because it's more profitable to think the other way around. More people will say "lets print out hundreds of coupons. They are from original and they are not copies. Let's use them on giftcards so we get 50% off and make a killing".

Clearly Best Buy made a mistake. But I refuse to play a part in dealing millions and millions of dollars worth of loss on Monday. It's not my job to put Best Buy out of business early. Amazon and Target can do that.
The bold part is where you run into trouble. Let me start by saying that I completely agree with you. The problem is, these people that seem to always defend every one of these kinds of "deals" have none. They dont care about morals, nor do they care about anyone other than themselves. That's fine, but they seem to get upset when you point it out to them. They love to use the weak arguemnt, of "Best Buy is always ripping off their customers, so why shouldn't we rip them off?" Well, I'm sorry but that arguemnt is complete and utter bullshit, and any person with any semblance of common sense (again, it's not that common), would be able to see that. Best buy doesnt come to your place of business and steal from you. Sure, their prices may be higher on certain items. Guess what, theyre a farking store that is out to make money. It really isnt rocket science, but again we come to that common sense thing. People have this great thing called free will. it means you dont have to do what everyone else is doing. it means, that if Best Buy is selling the latest widget for $10 and everywhere else is selling it for $8 you dont have to buy it at Best Buy. Simple as that.
People here seem to love pointing out that there was no limit to the number of times you can use the coupon printed on the coupon. Of course they forget to mention that the majority of them WERENT EVEN SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE COUPON. The coupon was designed to go to a specific group of customers.
Bottom line, is there seems to be a large group of "people" here on slickdeals that seem to have no morals or integrity whatsoever. That will take advantage of any loophole no matter how obviously wrong it is so they can save a buck. Then brag about how they are such low class "human beings", and argue it with anyone that has the balls to point it out.

You seem to be one of the few that can tell right from wrong, and have the balls to point it out.

No, if the manager allowed it, it does not. Its the people whining and screaming and complaining because they can't get something that the coupon was not meant to be applied to. And expecting compensation in return.
