Have you even put them side by side and done a comparison? It doesn't even look like the same coupon? I wasn't even able to use ONE and was given the run around... Spent 2 hours in store, 3 on the phone being transferred around, an hour in driving back and forth twice... Bought $200 in prepaid MasterCard cards with the intention of using two. Ridiculous... Need I add my 2 month experience of being without my laptop last year when their joke repair center couldn't figure out what was wrong with my 5 year old piece of junk other than the fact it was a piece of junk (that was still under their warranty plan.) I'm tired of their bs. No offense. And with my laptop last year I easily spent over 12 hours on the phone over those 2 months, countless times in store after receiving false pick up in store emails...
why do you want to support them by still shopping there after all this? you went through all this trouble to shop at a store you had a terrible 2 month experience?

because he/she wanted a deal at best buy's expense. the real question is if 5 hours of his/her time is only worth $50? i make more than $10/hour.

When I bought it they told me I had 30 days to return it.

I'd be curious to see people actually talk about positive stories at BB, but that is rare.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The vast majority of people at my BBs are helpful and nice. I'll stand up for them.

That's right. And I returned the iPad I bought 3 weeks ago. They didn't seem too happy, but did not do anything to make it right either.

I knew nothing about this coupon debacle because I've not been online for a while. Went I went to mu local Best Buy today, of course they wouldn't honor it. I went to customer service and asked (since I made a special trip) if they were offering anything in place of the coupon and was given a simple "no".
I didn't raise a fuss, but my Best Buy (#595) sucks. This has been my experience with them multiple times. Now I come on here and see everyone received RZ $, etc., so I wrote the central office to let them know what douches they have working in Greensburg.

What were you expecting them to do?

Seriously. The iPad is a very, very low profit margin item for them. Not to mention, they have no problem selling them - nor will have any problem selling your returned one. They only make money on the peripherals. So using that, or more specifically the threat of returning it, as a bargaining tool is kind of foolish. It's either lose ~$10 in profit from your iPad versus $50 in accepting the coupon.

Now if you were threatening to return $500 in Monster Cables, then you might have had a manager willing to do an override.

I tried to use my $50 off coupon and was shut down. They just blew me off. I was going to use it on a legitimate purchase and was within the guidelines of the coupon. Anyhow to get back at them I have wasted their time by loading up a shopping cart of various items throughout the store and pushing it to the checkout line with the coupon on top. Just a dirty way at getting back at Best Buy for wasting my time driving there and not honoring their coupon. It makes me feel a little bit better.

Nothing. Take it like a man and move on. You were not supposed to receive that coupon anyway, if you actually received it from MasterCard then you can always call MC and complain, otherwise this topic wasted enough space and bandwidth as it is already with people who were not meant to receive the coupon, taking advantage of a loophole and robbing BB. wave

What are you babbling about? For someone trying to make a point by acting like they're so much better than everyone else, you certainly have your facts messed up (which just makes you look foolish).

This WAS a valid coupon that BEST BUY sent out to many people. MasterCard has absolutely nothing to do with it - it even says so on the coupon. How do you know that he didn't receive it from Best Buy? You don't. While the vast majority of the people in this thread didn't, that doesn't mean no one did.

And there was no "loophole". Best Buy screwed up and sent out a very good (for us) coupon with almost no restrictions. This wasn't a hack, fraud, etc. It was simply a stupid company making a stupid decision, and then trying to cover their asses from the repercussions.

If you think someone trying to use the legitimate coupon for what it says it's valid for is "robbing" Best Buy, well, you're just an idiot.

Next time you should actually read about the deal and understand what happened before telling people off. And if this thread is 'wasting your bandwidth', feel free to leave.

The point is that if people tried to use the coupon after Monday and got shut down, they need to quit whinning and talking about all their wasted time. It was clear after Monday the coupon had changed and that it was likely not going to work. They chose to take a chance and wasted their own time. It's slickdeals, if you didn't get in on the deal move on and maybe you'll catch the next one.
