Nintendo is pulling a sega.

They are trying to cash in as much as possible before dumping the mainstream consol business and going all software.
They will keep their handheld line though.

I would enjoy a wii U, but more for a $200 price point (for the deluxe). I have a tough time with $350 for the deluxe. It sounds like it is struggling some.

And this is why I haven't bought one yet. Consoles are dying out fast. Things like the nVidia Shield and the Razer Edge are going to take over.

Yep, plus keyboard + mouse = superior controllers for real gamers (with the exception of a few types of games).

Maybe. I think within the next 6 months we'll get a few more good titles, and by the end of the year there will be a handful more. Nintendo does seem to have a problem on its hands, though. I see them dropping the price by $50 pretty soon. I liked Nintendoland and NSMB, but I'm sort of out of things to play on the system right now.

Nintendo is going the completely wrong direction with the Wii U...unless your market is 9 years old girls.

I am kind of disappointed with the release schedule coming out for the console. I like NSMB U, but I can't picture the next game I will buy for the system.

Maybe the next Smash Brothers.

Agreed about the lack of games. I own 6-7, which is a lot considering how new the console is, but most of them are lacking replay value for me. I doubt it will happen, but for me to play this thing on a daily basis, I need something like GTA. I need the action, and the insane amount of content.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like I bought the Wii U because Nintendo was a huge part of my childhood, and less because of the system itself. Right now, the only thing I really do on the Wii U regularly is browse the internet if I'm short on time; it boots up faster than my PC.

890,000 sold in 41 days seems pretty solid. Sales typically slump after the holidays, and the game delays aren't good news, but I don't see any reason to suggest it's a flop. I intend to buy one, just not yet, I think there are a lot of people in the same boat.

I kind of think that's what gives Nintendo an edge, PS/Xbox don't interest me at all, because I have a gaming PC, but I'll buy a WiiU to play more casual games with my wife, as well as for the Nintendo franchise games. The Razer Edge is a neat idea, but I don't think it will catch on, keyboard/mouse are still superior for most serious PC games, and it's overkill for playing old games on emulators (that's the only time I find myself using a controller on my pc). Either way, hope they all do well.

That will probably be not for another year though. I'm sure the Wii U will pick up more once the core titles are released later in their "opening window". Games like Monster Hunter 3 ultimate, Smash brothers, etc. I'm still holding off for the inevitable price drop before thinking about picking one up though, I'd say PS3 is almost the better choice for consuming non-gaming media with xbox becoming more family oriented with the kinect.
