The tip that I can add to the use of this flash is to set it up off camera in slave mode, bouncing off the wall or ceiling. You can then use your pop up flash on camera with an index card and rubber band attached so that you're bouncing the light off the ceiling (or use your hand to obscure it, all you need is the light to trigger the off camera flash) to get some great side or top lit shots.

Many flash user manuals mention not to directly flash infants. After some google searching I gather that people seem to think that this is simply to avoid a lawsuit. I don't know if a direct flash will permanently harm an infants eyes (in fact I doubt it will), but it certainly can startle them. However, since I have the ability to bounce my flash, I prefer to err on the side of caution.
