i called up samsung they said i have 1 year manufacture warranty, extra 3 months if i register online. also called up amex and they said they'd double any warranty the manufacture offers. so im good for 27 months.

thumbs down to the people thumbing this down just because they cant replicate deal. ill keep hidden gems like this to myself next time

My local Best Buy is still doing an additional 30% off on the Windows 7 machines, so I got it for 640 out the door too, down from 800-something. Awesome deal OP, I'd had my eye on this for a while. The build is Macbook Air quality, IMO, and it's super fast for everyday tasks.

No idea, it's worth a shot though. They definitely want to get rid of them. sub-700 for this machine is smoking hot, especially given that people are spending 699 for the 13 inch version of the series 9

When you get to clearance and/or open box items like this, Best Buy's prices have a surprising amount of leeway.

i would think that this is still a good buy at 800 + 10% open box. also i saw a couple of yogas for 800~830 to for whoever is in ther convertible market.

If you were really considering it
1- first call up the store and make sure they have it
2- ask them to hold it until you got there
3- when in store open box to check condition/ see if plastic is still on it. if they have the sound wire alarms then thats even better, my store didnt let me open the box until i paid for it so its probably in like-new condition
4- buy and use the 30 day return policy to your advantage. try to pay with amex for extra warranty

Not for me, for whoever really wanted in on the deal and wondering about inventory. I've got an XPS 17 with Samsung 840 Pro 256 SSD and 16 gb ram. It's not near as small and light as this guy, but it's beastly.

I am looking for a cheapo laptop for my mother, however, and might get in on some other open box deals at my local BB.

it's not hidden gems if noone can replicate it or if it's nearly impossible to replicate.
Hopefully more stores would have this at discounted price. Wouldn't love to get one for my daily driver!
