Philips 12.5- Watt (60-W) LED A19 Soft White (2700K) Dimmable Light Bulb - $12.97 @ HD B&M YMMV

These are great lights. I hate the 3k lights because they are a little too white but these look just like incandescent. I think this is normal price though for HD. I bought a pair from Amazon before I realized that. HD also has 10% military discount on anything.

I believe that this is a price with a discount from a utility. W had it in Colorado a while ago. I bought some, but I sort of took it for granted and now it is gone. The guy at Home Depot told me it was less than their cost for the bulb.

Some states (such as MA and RI) will subsidize the cost of a single LED bulb up to $25 (or 50% off, whichever is less).

I really don't understand why they're still so expensive. They should be cheaper to make than CFLs, but I guess these manufacturers are just being greedy. I've been looking at them lately (mostly on the web because B&M stores have ripoff prices) and I found this one brand called Torchstar which sounds pretty good according to reviews. Most I looked at were between $5-10, so I hope that they're not too good to be true. Anyway, I am going to add a couple to my next Amazon order and see how they fair before buying a whole bunch.

I overheard a HD person a few weeks ago. These are going to be in a "end-of-life" status; meaning.. these are clearance. They are dumping these.

I bought some at Wal-Mart, lights of America brand, for 5 each. Reviews aren't great, but they worked fine for me....3w each I think

I saw a new design being displayed at my home depot and they are calling it "A" shape. It is white compared to this.

Just an FYI.. the lights of america brand.. suck. I have bought two sets of three and 2 have already failed on a dimmer.

are they the no-dimmable ones? those are the one that I have. I don't have them on a dimmer, of course, just with on/off cheapo lamps. They are on almost 24/7. No single failure and have been on for months

They were supposed to be dimmable, but that might have just been my batch that didnt survive the dimmer, could have also been my dimmer, that does matter. But I just dont trust this brand. I have bought a lot of the eco homedepot brand and they have lasted. But to each thier own, i am really considering getting a few of these phillips ones.

I see...problemb is that you generalized that all of that brand suck, which isn't the case. ..a bit misleading

True, I agree with your point. I take back my earlier statement.

From my experience, with the led lights and (I will add this in)a few of the cfls by this brand(america brand) that also didnt last that long.... I just dont trust that brand. My opinion. Ecosmart cree lights have been AMAZING and a few GE led floods have been solid.

Back on topic, these phillips lights look great and I have been waiting for the price to drop some...
