ohh..I got this at Amazon last week for 48.99( delivered yesterday) and Amazon does not price match products other than TV's . Any way to get my $9 back ?

Buy it from Newegg and return it to Amazon. You'll probably have to pay return shipping though since the return wasn't due to Amazon's error.

I think so too, but several people have told me that their line was disconnected at the interface box. If you live in a house it's easy enough to plug it back in, but in an apartment you probably won't have access to it.

is google voice promised to be free through 2013? i know they keep saying it will be free until said date and then extend...just curious how much free guaranteed google voice i'll be able to use with this...

Yes, they extended it.

With googlevoice, caller id won't show the name of the caller, right? I know you can add their name to your address book and it will. I'm looking into this for my parents. i know my mom would be upset if she didnt see names.

Google voice only shows the number. I believe you would have to input all phone numbers and names into your phones memory for it to show the name. Or you can do this: http://www.obitalk.com/forum/inde...pic=3640.0.

What happens when you get a text message at the GV number? I imagine that you can still have GV email you the text message but does obihai do anything with them?

Right... obihai doesn't do anything with text messages.. you will get them forwarded to your email/cell phone if you have them setup. Or if you are using google voice app on your smartphone, you will have your text messages pop up there. Bottom line, no changes to how you receive your text messages

May I ask a sort of related question? Reading reviews it seems when the device is configured with google voice the user's google chat status shows online and away 24/7/365. Is that accurate or have they overcome that issue? Or perhaps the reviewer did not properly configure the device? Thanks in advance!!!

Would plugging it back in affect anything? My telco unplugged it in order to provide me with VoIP service so I assume it needs to be unplugged for quality voice service(?).

Yes, I should have added that. If you have it set up so your VoIP is connected to your home phone wiring don't reconnect it at the interface box. The voltage from the POTS can really screw up your equipment.

In my setup I connected a cordless phone to the Obi110 and then have extra handsets around the house. The only things connected to the POTS are the Obi and an emergency phone I keep plugged in to call 911 in case the power is out and the Obi is off.
