would be fun to build a small system but looks like i would have to do a heavy mod to fit a H60 in there..

cooling system sucks good as a HTPC.

Really hard to resist building a server with this. Or even a fully decked out ITX rig. Can't beat the size while it being so compatible, while fitting 5 HDD's. I'm even grateful it has no pesky ODD area. Cooling is just fine. It's only not ok for those that insist on overclocking everything and fitting water coolers in everything...

I'm undecided between having an HTPC that can fit in my media cabinet and one that can hold 7 (!!!) HDDs. I have 4TB of storage in my mini-itx now, but I'm just such a data hoarder.

I think the deciding factor is how expensive HDDs still are. If the tsunami never happened we'd probably be getting 4TB drives for $70-80 right now, and I'd be all over this.

I'm so tempted to buy this for a NAS.

Has anyone who used this as a NAS give me a pros and cons list. TY in advance.

I was shopping for a Mini ITX board since the black Bidfenix Prodigy is always sold out and found this.

Newegg [newegg.com] has the Lian Li PC-Q25B Mini-ITX case for $79.99 ($129.99 minus $30 with promo code EMCXWVV34 and minus $20 from rebate).

I searched the forums and found the PC-Q08 made it to front page year 2011 for $80 and this is a better case.

Please let me know if I need to edit something as this is my first time creating a thread.

Build a small one to stream, and a second as a server located elsewhere. Best way to go IMO. Decentralizes the storage, and the HTPC can be swapped/upgraded independently. Not to mention giving you the flexibility to go as small as you'd like. Sure there's cost added, but most system builders have spare/older parts one can use. Cost can be a balancing act. You could then spend less on the HTPC case, since you'd have that flexibility. Like that all too common, cheap Apex case. Or maybe it just frees you up to some sleek sexy/ not cheap cases =P.

Yup, SD search strikes again. A search for PC-Q25 will not match PC-Q25B.

A search for N82E16811112339 found the earlier post, but not yours (it should have).

Been here before, so I just searched for LIAN LI and found both.

Start with the most general search term that could work - for example, case - and switch to more specific search term when there's too much junk (unwanted results) in the search results.

There will never be a standard way to describe something in a post and there are always typos, too, so search will never be perfect.

Very tempting although I have no itx boards lying around here to use in this. I never see any deals on itx mobo's.

any of these fit regulation video cards? i thought it would alway be sweet to build an awesome gaming rig with a full size card but man some of those itx boards are pricey.
