Does this thing have instructions on how to put it together? I've never built a computer from scratch. Do I need a degree in rocket science?

Just remember to place the stuff on something that's not conductive to static, for example some types of polyester picnic mats might work and so on; and make a habit of touching the side of the case before touching parts, it's not a big deal but just a safety precaution for that one percent chance etc. Here's a step by step guide, it's pretty detailed and even has youtube vids. Really there's nothing to it, and after the first couple times you build one it becomes pretty routine stuff: http://techreport.com/review/2362...port-guide I should add that the info in the article might sometimes be more info than you need, like for example putting thermal paste on the cpu, you don't need that because this CPU normally comes with its own and it works just fine so just stick it right in and you're good to go, stuff like that. This would be a great first build for first time PC builders, especially if your current system is a notch or two below this one (Core2Duos, Athlon X2s, etc), or if you are building for someone else. This CPU is one of the best low budget AMD cpu out there for multi-purpose use
It is a pass for me, because of tax and shipping here (I wish circuitcity.com were still active) brings the total up to $250 AR, and because I have other builds still sitting around. |

I got in on a similar combo deal from about 7 months ago for a build for my uncle. The 1045T is a solid performer for the price and he has no need for sophisticated graphics so he's very happy with it. Now it's $50 cheaper and the only real difference is this one doesn't include an optical drive. I would definitely jump on this one if I had a need.

Besides that, mainly everything is get power to the hardware, or get data transfer from the hardware to the mobo. Even usb/audio cords from the case only have one place they can go. Just be careful that you place the CPU in the socket carefully (said careful twice). Not difficult, just don't be careless with the the cpu (those pins bend). On the software side, just load the os from the disc drive, install it to the hard drive. Upon completing, insert drivers disc that came with the mobo and install the drivers. With that being said, the 1045t is an excellent CPU for the price. I've been running it for a couple years now and have had no problem running just about anything. Buy a decent GPU with this card and you'll have a fairly decent gaming computer. Proud owner of the Black Friday 2011 Best Buy Sharp 42" 1080p $200 TV
