It's funny, I remember a few years back when I got a netbook, everyyyyyone was hating on the multi-gesture trackpads that were coming out with Dells and others. Not all ppl, but more haters than lovers at the time.... Now, they're going to replace our Computer mouses as well!

Nice new Accessory for the industry to make new profits on. I haven't tried Win 8, but I hope (if these pads are a must) they will start coming included standard like a Mouse was.

I'm trying to even figure out what the heck this damn thing even does, and that video is classic!
So let me get this straight, its a mouse...for a desktop, that you use like a tablet? I'm so clueless.

I still use the trackpoint mouse! I don't even like a regular touchpad mouse on my laptop, so I'm guessing this is not for me. So much so that I'm having my IT department disable mine at work tomorrow, by tweaking the bios.

I would definitely not give up trackpoint for this. Can't you just disable the touchpad from the Synaptic device properties?

good luck getting a touchpad from a reputable merchant for $30. Every time someone posts them here they're either from a bad merchant, their own ebay account, or the asking price is over the firesale price. I remember the euphoria (and all the obnoxious new SDers) that came with the firesale, but at this point there are so many capable tablets on the market for around the same price as the Touchpad that you'd have to be really fixated on either webOS, rounded corners,2-lb bricks, or low resolution screens to want one.
