50% off of retail is pretty slick, even if it is refurbished. Still irks me that we're paying $10 for cables though. Not typical SD fashion, but with the crappy quality of the knockoff lightning cables I feel we really have no other choice.

Not a fan of the vendor. Research what others experience with them. I personally think they are a rip off artist, but that is my opinion.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a refurbished cable before.

They sent out used, untested crap as "refurbished." Most notably the cell phone car chargers with most being defective.

Your hope here is that it's just a cable and these are just customer returns with nothing wrong with them.

I highly doubt these are Apple cables. So many holes: why would Apple refurbish a $20 cable - they'd just toss them, and when Apple sells true refurb items, they get sold directly or through authorized outlets like Macmall, etc.

I think you're just getting sold a knock off cable. I bought one from China and it worked until the lightning plug end pulled out from the cable. This was only using it maybe 25-30 times?

It looks like Belkin and Griffin are slowly coming out with their own authorized cables. Hopefully they will undercut Apple's price.

And if you're going to buy a knockoff, you can find yourself a cheaper one on eBay for about 1/2 the price.

Amazon sells their own for $15 now.

How do you refurbish a cable???

I donno why this is a deal. I've gotten a couple generics so far (all less than $10) and they've all worked fine. Possibly better than a "refurbished" Apple OEM cable would work.
