Ordered on 12/8/2012: 2 x Intel SSD ($20 rebate each)

Submitted Rebate (scanned rebate submission before mailing just in case)

Received rebate in the mail just yesterday, 1/22/2013

Rebate issues aside, I don't think I can bring myself to buy any hard drive, internal or external that comes only with a 1 year warranty. They should bring that EU directive here to America, a minimum 2-year guarantee required on all consumer goods such as electronics.

I can wait 2 months for another HD deal, still have some HD space left..,

I've had about 20 WD drives, 15 of which have failed ... 30+ Seagate drives, 1 of which might likely have problems (currently looking into it).

Even without taxes, this drive doesn't look appetizing...

I'm looking for a bear-bones drive, but after ripping this thing out and using it (setting aside the fact that the enclosure is only USB 2.0), I'm worried it's going to fail (even considering that this would be used for non-essential files) :|

Its a trap to bring people in who end up forgetting/being lazy with the rebates.

Okay 3TB with only 2.0 capability for $100 is really pissing me off! Such a rip off for old technology!!
