Nope, HDD nowadays are not reliable, especially WD and seagates. Idk if anyone else ever bought Hitachi and samsung spinpoint back then. I've had them installed in n my server as 2 2tb raid samsung and 2 2tb raid hitachi for 3 years now, never had a single problem. Idk if they still produce them now.

I've been hammering them with reads, writes, RAID capacity expansion and recovery tests for the last week and haven't had a peep out of SMART yet on a bad sector. All I need is 5 more.... This drive shows up as shoprunner eligible, so that should help with a free return to newegg. If you didn't get in on the big free 1yr of shoprunner, you should still be able to get a shorter trial membership.
