im rocking 3x 3TB Reds in my NAS, no problems. They are running 24/7

$99 is the cheapest I've seen on the 2TB. I bought in at $109. D'oh! FWIW, the packaging from Amazon was A+ (arrived in original containers with suspension). They've been running 24x7 in my DS213 for over a month.

I think a lot of people don't realize how good these drives are. They blow the Green drives out of the water, and even out-perform some of the black/RE4 drives:

Maybe it's a global economy thing, do we accept crap quality better than other countries?

Now that Seagate and Western Digital are the only people making drives they don't give a crap about quality and just make them as cheaply as possible. Duopolies really suck for the consumer, and I should've snatched up Samsung/Hitachi drives when they were $60AR or even $70 out the door.

With that said, I got a 2TB Red drive for Xmas from Amazon and I ran a 66 hour burn in test and it passed without errors. It's happily spinning away in my 7.5TB server right now.

I'm pretty sure they are the same as the green drive but with TLER

Are you using a perc controller too? I'm using a perc 5. 2tb limit isn't terrible when you have 8 drives

I certainly wish I loaded up when the HD204ui were $60.
