Manatee County sheriff's deputies continue to investigate an incident in which a man fatally shot an alleged robbery suspect Sunday night at his Bradenton home.

Two men were sitting in the carport of a residence in the 4200 block of 24th Street West about 10:20 p.m. when three suspects, dressed in black and wearing masks, approached on foot. James Brady, 26, allegedly pointed a handgun at one of the victims, ordering him to the ground, according to the sheriff's office.

That's when the victim, who has a conceal-carry license, pulled out a handgun, according to Dave Bristow, sheriff's office spokesman. Gunfire exchanged between the two men

Score one more for the good guys.

there is no straw man. perhaps you should go dig up the other poster's thread in order to educate yourself on the context of what i am referring to in my post. i am only making that recommendation to you since you decided to participate, whether you follow through with it or not i couldn't care less
I am fairly familiar with the other poster's posts and comments. As far as I recall he did not "refuse to defend" his spouse. But if you can provide evidence that he did, preferably with a direct quote, be my guest and show me wrong.

1) Summarize the other poster's posts and comments directly related to the context of what my post was referring to

or

2) If you are unable to summarize by memory then since you claim to be familiar with them...list the quotes of the other poster's primary posts and comments as directly related to the context I was referring to in my post

Just a little sidebar comment for you - I never asked you if you were "fairly familiar" with his posts and comments. I made the recommendation for you to go back and find his thread to educate yourself on the context of what my post was referring to before I would be willing to continue the discussion with you. You've already been allotted more time than what would be deemed appropriate so if you are unwilling to put just a smidgen of effort into this discussion and unwilling to address #1 or #2, then this discussion stops here. My bluntness is because you ducked and dodged, and weaseled your way out of answering numerous recent questions in another thread with regards to your "familiarity" on the topic of guns, including one of your own threads (the Chris Christie thread). You refused to explain your motivation for leaving out a key aspect of the NJ gun bill and I never heard a peep from you after being confronted. I still have yet to see a list of several (4) gun enthusiasts in the Podium who supposedly, according to your own claim, have provided you with the knowledge you proudly state to the community as being adequate enough to intelligently contribute to a discussion on guns. I refuse to waste my time with someone who if I was playing Connect Four with, once they see I'm about to get 4 in a row they knock it over and run away.

You made a claim that the other poster "refused to defend" his spouse. I recall the exchange and I do not recall he so indicated..

It seems you cannot support your claim.

Now go ahead and have the last word.

otherwise, pick up your purse and move along

This happens a lot. A poster refuses to prove their claim and instead insist that others must prove them wrong. When this happens, I wonder which is true:

1. The poster genuinely does not understand that the burden of proof is on the person making the claim and that proving a negative is nearly impossible.

2. They know this full well, but they rather use this incredibly embarrassing tactic to avoid seeing their ego bruised by admitting they misspoke.

Personally I rather admit I misspoke any day.

i quoted another poster. you claim in my post quoting someone else, that i made a strawman against that poster. i don't recognize your claim, and cite the reason as the context of a previous discussion that took place with said poster (which you weren't involved in yet you claim familiarity with AND that you recall his posts and comments from...and are unable to produce either). you were offered the opportunity to go back and familiarize yourself with said discussion with said poster, but you refused. you then try and make yet another claim that the onus is on me to prove your 1st unrecognized claim wrong?

...and you wonder why people point to Crylol behavior and Rofl2 all over the Podium about it?
