MSM8655, still a single-core processor, right? EDIT: according to wiki, it's kind of the high-end processor of Snapdragon S2, which is still single-core. Clock can go up to 1.4GHz.

Regards to carriers, this phone is meant for cdma2000 network; NOT GSM. So...
And the phone was programmed for Boost; but you should be able to program it onto Virgin Mobile, PagePlus, or Cricket - if you consider yourself somewhat comfortable with software and searching for tutorials at xda and howardforums. if you don't like to DIY, I think there are people doing that at ebay or other websites. The charge would be from $20 - $50. No matter what price it is, they do essentially the same thing - manually key in information from the desired carrier. In addition, if you program it to carriers not using Sprint's network (e.g. PagePlusCellular), you'd have a "Roaming" indicator on. But that's okay, don't get scared; there are folks modding that indicator off too.

BTW, I just looked up the sold prices for "new" or "new others" on ebay, seems you could get something close to $150-160, occasionally.

EDIT: Correction on my previous words about it won't work for GSM. A review at the bottom of the page [gsmarena.com] says it's working for both, just as a iphone 5, any world phone. In this case, I can only think of that it can be manually programmed to other cmda network (excluding Sprint and Verizon, probably); but whether any sim card from US GSM carriers can work right after plugged in is yet to be discussed. My guess would be prepaid would be easier than post-paid... haha
any other thoughts?

NOTE: no mature android dev and community for this particular model, no official CM builds, meaning all the roms are ported not original developed; and several forum members reported slowness and battery drainage with the official ICS update

Not bad at $150. I've been holding out for the galaxy s2 to hit $200. Very tempting

I do not think you can swap carriers. It says it is for Boost Mobile.

Boost uses Sprint towers. Sprint uses CDMA which is a different technology than AT&T and T-Mobile which are GSM carriers.

Boost and Virgin Mobile are MVNO's using Sprint towers. Check the Wikipedia link below for more info.

This phone has a mini SIM, that leave me wondering if I can somehow get it unlocked and put AT&T sim card in it.
