New Lenovo X230T Tablet Laptop with Multitouch $632

Just an update on this deal-I checked my order status this morning on the new X230T I ordered. The description now shows 'Thinkpad X230 Tablet - 3 Yr Depot'...the 3 year warranty definitely makes this deal a bit better.

This may not be a 'deal' for everyone, but for those of us that use one of these daily it is a very good price.

Does anyone know how long it takes a product to hit the outlet from its release date? I'm looking for a Thinkpad Helix releasing next month....

I still need this for school use... how do i keep missing this !

Not sure, but I saw a Yoga in the outlet recently, if that helps give any idea. I'd say at least a few months from release to outlet.

Upgrades? Like what, the floppy keyboard "cover" and $1100+ price tag (with tax + 128gb ssd)? It's thinner and a bit lighter, but that's really about it... however the screen is only 10.6" vs. the X230 Tablet's 12.5" (which is much better for work uses), and super-high resolution for such a small screen. I paid $700 taxed/shipped and got an Ivy Bridge i5, a screen resolution I could run light 3d gaming on with the HD4000 built in, a much larger screen, 128gb SSD (the base Surface Pro comes with 64gb), and a convertible form factor which is better for my needs including good keyboard and touchpad. Oh, and yes, still much cheaper + built like a workhorse...

Wow that's fast. I thought the Yoga was released sometime in Q4 2012. I also hope that means the Thinkpad Tablet 2 will find itself in the outlet soon... I'm currently caught in between the Tablet 2 and the Helix...

Are these still wrongly spec-ed machines without multi-touch like the ones in an old thread?

Cancelled due to 1 year warranty and Sandy Bridge. Such a shame, too...I've been wanting an x220t/x230t for a while. It will probably be my luck that the specs I was given were wrong and I just cancelled an awesome deal.


I just chatted with the Outlet and they stated that even though the order status states 3yr Depot, it is actually a 1 yr warranty.
Now, for me, I don't know if I want to keep the tablet since my x200 tablet still have warranty till June, and the ONLY real reason I wanted to upgrade was because I can't get Lenovo to extend my x200 warranty again.

I guess I'll have to decide whether the hardware upgrade is really worth it, since I just use the tablet for school and already have a Boe-Hydis display in my x200. I had the chat rep email me a list of specs for the machine as well, and if it's only a Sandy Bridge with HD3000 like the description said, I don't think I'll keep it.

I don't think it is, only the ones with BX2 or something like that were. And idk if I will keep mine or to because of that. I got mine for $525 shipped, i5 3320, 4 gb ram, etc. and judging from the one I ordered, the other thread stated it is not multitouch just pen digi.

What do you think? Is it worth it to keep?

The pen only model has Gorilla Glass.
The multitouch model does not have Gorilla Glass.

Didn't read the thread fully, but you should use their parts look up page and enter your serial number to see what's in the system. GG itself is pretty good for outdoor use other than the obvious con(pen only) and it was once really sought-after item since their retail site always ran out of it quickly. If you must use multitouch, then sell it or otherwise keep it(assuking if you do get the GG variant). They both have their merits.
