Deal Details

There are plenty of X230T Tablets in stock on the Lenovo Outlet. These are NEW, not refurbished! Price is $632 + free shipping (I should have mentioned that in the title).

Link to Outlet [lenovo.com]

Important:

Do not filter by "X Series Tablet"

Instead, filter by "X Series" only. Then, filter results by "Price (Low)" and scroll until you get to $630 price, and you should see plenty of tablets in stock. I was pretty surprised to see so many, and hopefully these actually have multitouch unlike the last deal.

Good luck!

So what's nice is I don't have to worry about my arms going across the screen and messing up my writing.
You won't have to worry about that either way - since the touch sensor and pen sensor (digitizer) are different/separate.

Every last one of 'em is specced like this and listed as new:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-2370M Processor (2.40GHz, 3MB L3, 1333MHz)( )
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - English
Display: 12.5" HD WXGA (1366 X 768) MultiTouch LED backlight"
Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 3000
Memory: 4 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz SODIMM Memory
Hard Drive: 320GB, 7200RPM Serial ATA 2.5" Hard Drive
Optical Drive: No Optical Included

I'm happy with the deal I got...
($664 + tax, free ship):

Lenovo X230 Tablet
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3320M Processor (3M Cache, 2.60 GHz, Turbo 3.1GHz)( )
Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64 - English
Display: 12.5" HD WXGA (1366 X 768) MultiTouch LED backlight"
Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Memory: 4 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz SODIMM Memory
Hard Drive: 128GB SATA 2.5" Solid State Drive
Optical Drive: No Optical Included
Battery: ThinkPad Battery 67+ (6 cell)
Warranty: 1 Year Standard Depot Warranty

Graphics are way stronger and actually playable for a good number of titles on low settings, CPU is way stronger (Ivy Bridge + 3.1ghz dual-core turbo), has a nice SSD, etc. I ordered a low-voltage 30nm Samsung 4GB stick to toss in alongside the default one to up it to 8gb for $23 off of amazon (and enable dual channel, which further improves the graphics by around 20-25% per benchmarks) and should be rocking.

Still, the $484 ones are pretty crazy just for the base price...

It's a good deal... the Ivy ones are much rarer on the outlet though they've shown from time to time. I wouldn't say it's as hot as one like I got as far as bang for the buck, but it's still a nice unit. With so many on there I would wait through this afternoon and keep checking to see what you can catch if you have the budget to go for an Ivy one like I got, but if you don't, I wouldn't feel badly at all getting one of these $484 ones. These less expensive ones would still run photoshop, zbrush, etc. very well. I doubt it'll get much better than this pricing for an X230t right now, so as I said... if this is your budget, I would bite.

Thanks for the great review. Definitely puts everything into perspective for me. For my uses, I do not plan on upgrading to W8, and I think the pen only version may work in my favor, as I plan on using it to take notes in class, and that is about it. So what's nice is I don't have to worry about my arms going across the screen and messing up my writing.
Not only that, the X series has great palm rejection built in. Using onenote, taking notes has never been an issue in the slightest with respect to the digitizer pen, except for the fact that youre writing on a surface almost 1" off the desk as opposed to a sheet of paper or notebook 1/4" or so. Takes a while to get used to.

A whole bunch of those x230t are now $484 plus tax, it's a great machine to keep for your personal use if you just want a basic touchscreen computer, but the specs are severely compromised to keep it long term or for resale. It seems that some company ordered a batch and then cancelled them all, it's funny that they cheapened out on the 6-cell battery cuz it's only a $10 option over the 3 cell one.

End up getting a regular x230 for $470. i5-3320/4gb/180gb ssd/BT/FPR/webcam/6205 wifi/win 7 pro. I think I did pretty good there.

You did well, definitely... I paid a good bit more since I needed the tablet version. Smilie

EDIT: And.... wow, there's literally ONE of those units left on the outlet now (the X230t with i3 2370m/etc. @ $484). That was fast!

specs?
No, it was refurbished (which may as well be new, with Lenovo, for all the units I've gotten through their outlet), and is significantly more powerful than the other models.

That's pretty good. Yours has the Intel Wifi, SSD, and a couple other things over the one I got. While I got some type of touchscreen with IPS display.
