Some units of the induction cooktop from Tatung and Rosewill would randomly shut off. It may be triggered by a faulty over-temperature protection. Read the reviews. i have this Tatung one with this problem while 3 other units I bought for my friends do not. On the other hand, the issue may be due to unplugging immediately after use, the same common mistake people make with digital projectors. One should always leave it plug in until the cooling fan stopped completely.

I would recommend the one at Costco instead. It is about the same price but with excellent return policy.

check the compatibility with the cooking pots you have. my mother-in-law got one, and only one of her pots is useable.

Tatung brand induction cooker has been in business for ~20ish years in asia, much better product reliability and functionality.

I only saw one induction cook top at Costco B&M. I forgot the brand name though.

The pot/pan will have to be a metallic and /or magnetic one I do believe.....

That's a good question. I am not sure but I think it doesn't. The Tatung one does include a pot but the pot quality is not so good. We actually have a few pots (cheap stainless steel ones) that work on induction cook top.
