On FW, I think they are reporting similar problems with ones they bought from Newegg. Looks like we will have to fight for our rebates and after we get that, stop playing this freebie game. My family/friends/co-workers will have to start doing this on their own now if they want something for free.

Ditto for Norton Internet Security 2013/Utilities/Ghost Bundle - Frys.com - 1/11/13
13-43641 - $50 13-43642 - $25 What's interesting is my wife and I both purchased this and submitted the rebates (different addresses, names, credit cards). Mine were processed just fine; hers didn't pass the audit process. |

I have 6 rebates stuck with Norton now.
Was on call with the Norton support for about 3 hours explaining them how the rebate process works. At the end of the call, the Norton supervisor thanked me for explaining how the mail in rebate process works in the USA. He has promised he will esacalate this to their 'case heads' and get back to me on Monday, the 28th. I will update this thread with what he shares with me. The one good thing that i found about during the call is that we can return any software purchased from Norton to their Ireland office. He mentioned the website of norton.com/retailrefund which will allow us to get our money back provided me follow the steps in the link. I dont know how valid his recommendation is specially since these reps from India are typically good with techie stuff. they have little knowledge of the business side of things. The kaspersky rebate audits now sound even more scary to me. I have a fair bit of money stuck up with them. Can someone else also share any more info on the Kaspersky rebates that are becoming a problem ? |

I just checked all of mine and everything says: "Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing." Hopefully that means I'm in the clear. Two Belkin rebates showed up as Invalid... yet they never sent me any notification or anything. I guess I'll have to be contacting Parago tomorrow. |

If it's any consolation, a friend of mine did the 13-43641 triple bundle $50 rebate on the same day as mine, and got the approval (Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing) email yesterday (1/24). He's pretty much done every Norton rebate that I've done.

From what I learned of the McAfee audit issue in 2010, the manufacturer is the one behind this so Parago/RebatesHQ can't really validate the rebate.
"Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing." doesn't mean anything until you get your money back. They can go and change the status with any reason they want (audit, missing upc, missing receipt) at any time. I suspect Iolo blacklisted me. Rebates get processed for one day and then it turns to invalid due to missing upc or receipt. I stopped buying their products. Just crossing my fingers and hope I get paid for the promised rebates from what I already bought. The Norton that just came in the mail, I will return and not bother with it. Don't want to do business with these people anymore. |
