Symantec Rebates - "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process"

Just got my Norton 360 V7 purchase from Dec notice.

I do almost all the rebates that I come across and both of those went through for me ("Your rebate is valid. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate").

If I don't get anywhere with Symantec (probably nowhere) and Fry's (also probably nowhere), I might just file a claim against them in small claims court. $67.50 to try and get my $185.

wow .. this is scary. I have atleast a couple thousand pending in rebates with parago on Norton/Trend/AVG.

There goes the rebate game. Things are getting tougher as MIR's become more popular. Retailers used to bank on the fact that 50% of the people purchasing for rebates won't end up submitting them. I don't think that's the case now.

No issues so far with paragon, except I had a couple problems with the smith micro software that was labeled "one rebate per customer". This used to mean one per customer per promotion. Now they tried to get shady and say that it meant one product rebate per person period for life. Nowhere on the rebate form does this say that.

If parago/Norton screw me them I'm doing a charge back to Fry's and new egg for their fraudulant business practices.

sounds like its mostly from frys norton purchases, which i stopped buying due to sales tax.

i purchased 4 norton programs from NE over the holidays and i received all of the rebates.

i did not purchase any norton programs during the year, until the holidays.

invalid for the same reason. Chatted online, no use.

I asked why it was invalid, he said the same audit thing with no further details. He also said he couldn't change
the status.

Oh sh!t.

Emails from Symantec rebate notification are pouring in as I speak (five emails in the last 30 min), and they all seem fine (valid and waiting for final processing).

Norton Internet Security 2013-3 PCs@Frys $30+$20 upgrade (mailed on 1/18)
Norton IS/Utilities/Online backup bundle 3U@OD $80+$25 upgrade (mailed on 1/22)
Norton Antivirus 2013- 1 PCs @OD $15 upgrade (mailed on 1/22)

Could it be that Parago has fixed the issue with Symantec now? Anyone got audit error since 1/25?

For those of you who are having issues with the rebates, I think the best way to contact Frys and Newegg is as a group not just as individuals and show a united front.

Maybe we should all write to frys and newegg CS with the same title and first few lines to show that we are organized and ready to raise hell if we don't get paid for this even though we followed the rules of the rebate.

I completely agree. If I get a chance today I'll draft up a letter and let you guys review and edit as you wish.

I have no problem with my last Symantec rebate which was submitted in early December, however, I had a big problem with the Sony Video Studio rebate which includes the competitive upgrade on the same form for a total of $100 (free after rebate). They first said "missing UPC". When I chat with them, they said there is a copy of UPC with the submission. I insisted it is the original UPC which I peeled off from the box. They transferred the case to a special team for investigation. A couple weeks later, the status changed to valid. Otherwise, I may need to fight with Fry's.
