Symantec Rebates - "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process"
I recently received invalid notifications on 3 Symantec rebates (more should be coming) all giving the reason "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process". I'm assuming this is 1 product per year thing that McAfee does (or did?) but it says this nowhere in any of the fine print on any of these Symantec rebates. I've contacted parago about this and I waiting for a response but I thought I would start this thread cause I'm sure other people will be in this same boat. If anyone else has any experience with this "invalid reason" or is in this same boat with Symantec, post you experience.

If you've been screwed by this, take your case public and shame the rebate processor. Write up a concise report of the problems and email it to email@example.com - it's owned by the Consumer Reports guys. If they publish it, you'll probably get resolution very quickly from Parago/Symantec. They don't want/need the bad press, especially since their rebate processing used to be amazing.
Also, dunno if it's still valid, but the CEO of Parago is Julie C Spottiswood of Plano, TX, and her number is/was (972) 403-7485 (her older number from 2008 is/was (972) 538 7200) if you want to try that. Someone else who had issues called and get resolution quickly, according to their post. If anyone tries it, post if it's still valid.
AVOID ALL NORTON REBATES AT THIS POINT UNTIL REABTES ARE NOT DECLARED INVALID DUE TO AUDIT ! SUBMIT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If Symantec can't be trusted to honor a rebate, how can they be trusted to secure a computer?
