Makes great tea. And if you want to make it even easier, install a hot water dispenser with the money you save not buying this silly device so you don't have to boil the water. That at least has many more applications.
My wife prefers her Revolution lavender teabags to the Teavana mix. However, once you find your favorite loose teas, you can't go back to teabags. There are a lot of Chai Oolong mixes that really provide the flavor teabags can't even dream about. My wife loves the lemon lime roobois tea with honey. I do too. Without honey, the lemon is too overpowering. I suggest you take advantage of the sale, order the above Oolong, add a Perfect Teamaker, and start the journey. I always add some rock sugar to my purchase.
The 16 oz teamaker for yourself, or a 32 oz for a second person that has the same tastes as you.
Just wanted to second you on both: revolutions early grey lavender and chai/samurai mix from teavana are both great teas and can convince anyone to get away from bagged powdered teas. (although revolutions is bagged, its still full leaf and extra ordinarily good for a grocery store tea)
although I cant spend this much money on a teapot, I sure think its worth it
Just keep in mind that you have to be careful with the caraffe. Not only is it glass but has lots of circuitry inside so you have to keep water well away from the underside of it when rinsing. Don't even think about putting it in the dishwasher!
That said it's a beautifully-designed and implemented piece of equipment and it's a joy to use.
Sounds like a textbook example of clumsy design for me.
