Is coffee made with French press better?

I am in for one

how the heck does this work? new office coming where i'll spend 90% of my time and want a coffee maker that does good...not a cheap hotel room coffee maker, yet not gonna break the bank making coffee. How this compare to Kureig and Kcups? Thanks.

People don't know how to use a french press?

You place the grounds in (you want to use bigger grounds than normal), fill with hot water, and press down the strainer. It's stupid simple.

YES! It is the only coffee we drink around here. My in-laws gave us a Keurig and it sits in the basement....unused. I would be all over this, except my husband bought me a really nice insulated one a few years back for Christmas and I don't need a new one. Although, having two when we have company over would be nice.

Make sure you get fresh beans and get a good burr grinder too, and make sure you grind them to the correct setting. Mmmmmm

Yep, grind it coarse. Put in the water a bit below boiling temperature. I usually let it sit on the counter for about a minute after it hits a full boil before putting it in the press. Pour in the water, stir it, and let it brew for 3-4 minutes. Press slowly and enjoy.

This is correct. I have the 'Brazil' model Bodum press which is also "8 cup" and I get about 2 full mugs out of it.

Much better than the drip coffee swill everyone else in my office drinks.

I started drinking coffee with a grind and brew coffee maker and really enjoyed it for years. While visiting a friend who used the "pour over" method I became hooked, it was so much fresher and richer tasting (probably due to the fact that coffee pots don't get the water hot enough). So fast forward a year, my wife gave me a Bodom french press for Christmas and I must say there is no going back, its the best coffee I have ever had. It beats any coffee I have had at any Coffee Bistro.

For anyone asking if French press is good coffee, the answer is no. It makes GREAT coffee. If you make it correctly, it's not bitter at all but can still be strong.

I was literally just looking at these on Amazon. Great timing. In for one. Now I just need a grinder and blender for some DIY fraps.

Now just need a FP deal on a burr grinder, I have an old school manual burr but it's alot of work.

FWIW, this is a decent price for this coffee press, but not a great price. I bought one for myself at X-mas for about $17 from buydig (it was on slickdeals), which my son promptly dropped and broke. So I bought another one from Target for about $18 with the redcard discount and free shipping. Target seems to be slightly more expensive on this model right now (maybe $19 with the discount?).

Of course, it's a better deal if you value the cups. But what the heck are you going to use them for? They don't seem like good cups for coffee.
